A broad line red light generator is configured with a single mode (SM) pulsed ytterbium (“Yb”) fiber laser pump source outputting pump light in a fundamental mode (“FM”) at a pump wavelength which is selected from a 1030-1120 nm wavelength range. The disclosed generator further includes a SM fiber Raman converter spliced to an output of the Yb fiber laser pump source. The Raman converter induces an “n” order frequency Stokes shift of the pump light to output the pump light at a Raman-shifted wavelength within 1220 and 1300 nm wavelength range with a broad spectral line of at least 10 nm. The disclosed light generator further has a single pass second harmonic generator (“SHG”) with a lithium triborate (“LBO”) nonlinear optical crystal having a spectral acceptance linewidth which is sufficient to cover the broad spectral line of the pump light. The SHG generates a SM pulsed broad-line red light with a broad spectral line of at least 4 nm.

Further, the optical parametric generator comprises a pump laser of a defined type feeding the optical system. The pump laser emits ultra-short optical pulses as a pump wave. In addition, the optical parametric generator comprises a second order non-linear crystal of a defined type arranged in the optical system. The defined type of the crystal and the defined type of the pump laser are selected so that the signal wave or the idler wave are locked in an edge of the pump wave.

The carbon isotope analyzer 1 is a simple and convenient apparatus that can analyze isotope 14 C.

The present invention relates generally to the field of synthetic crystal, and more particularly, this invention relates to doped low-temperature phase barium metaborate single crystal, growth method and frequency-converter. Molten salt method was adopted. The single crystal completely overcome the shortcomings of BBO with strong deliquescence, almost no deliquescence; its frequency doubling effect and optical damage threshold has improved greatly compared with the BBO; its hardness increased significantly, the single crystal with Shore hardness of 101.3 and Mohs hardness of 6, however, BBO with Shore hardness of 71.2 and Mohs hardness of 4. From the UV-Vis region transmittance curves tests, the cut-off wavelength of the single crystal is 190nm, wavelength of absorption onset is 205nm. BBSAG is widely applied in the fields of laser and nonlinear optics, and in terms of frequency-converter of ultraviolet and deep-ultraviolet due to its excellent properties better than BBO.

A terahertz wave generation element is provided, which includes: an optical waveguide including a core (4) of electro - optic crystal; an optical coupler (7) for extracting a terahertz wave generated from the optical waveguide when light propagates in the optical waveguide to a space; and a reflecting layer (6) disposed on the opposite side to the optical coupler with respect to the core of the optical waveguide, so as to reflect the generated terahertz wave. According to the element, it is possible to provide a generation element that can generate a relatively high intensity terahertz wave efficiently by photoexcitation or generate a terahertz wave having a relatively narrow pulse width, so as to flexibly control waveform shaping of the generated terahertz wave.
