La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de protection de documents contre la reproduction non autorisée, la reproduction étant une copie, une impression ou une numérisation. Dans une mémoire (16) de données d'un serveur (11) de gestion, il est associé un document (31 a) électronique correspondant au document papier, aux données (31 c) d'identification de la carte sans contact dudit document papier et à un profil (31 b) de droits, ce profil correspondant aux droits de copie, de numérisation et/ou d'impression accordés à des utilisateurs. Lorsque le serveur reçoit une requête de reproduction, il évalue les données d'identification d'une carte sans contact de l'utilisateur reçues, d'un lecteur RFID, par rapport au profil associé au document. En cas de correspondance, la reproduction est autorisée.

A light source is configured to emit narrow peaks at discrete spectral bands, especially primary color wavelengths, added to simulate the effect of a broadband light source. A subject is provided with a pigment, examples being certain rare earth lanthanides, with a strong absorption peak at a corresponding narrow spectral band. The pigment has a nominal hue under true broadband light. When illuminated by the narrow band source, the absorption peak eliminates the contribution of one of the primary colors, producing a distinct shift in hue of the pigmented subject. The change in hue cannot be anticipated from the appearance of illuminated subjects that lack the pigment, which remain normal. The narrow absorption peak is not noticeable under unmatched light sources or true broadband light sources, e.g., sunlight. The hue shift effect is useful for security authentication, informational and decorative applications.

A sheet handling apparatus for handling a sheet therein, comprises, a first body (2) including a first transfer path along which the sheet is driven to be moved, a second body (3) including a second transfer path along which the sheet is driven to be moved, an interface area (A point, B point) through which the first and second transfer paths of the first and second bodies movable with respect to each other on occasion demands, are capable of communicating with each other so that the sheet is capable of being transferred through the interface area between the first and second transfer paths when the first and second bodies have a predetermined positional relationship therebetween, and a controller (31) for controlling at least one of the first and second transfer paths to drive the sheet to be moved along the at least one of the first and second transfer paths.
