L'amélioration concerne la structure d'une batterie rechargeable au plomb-acide dans laquelle des électrodes (biélectrodes (5)) positives et négatives partagent la même grille ou le même substrat. Selon la présente invention, on empile lesdites biélectrodes les unes sur les autres, lesquelles sont séparées par des séparateurs (11) à mate de fibres de verre très poreux intercalés. Ces substrats positionnés entre les zones à électrodes positives et négatives font office de connexions électriques fixant les électrodes aux bornes de la batterie.
