Also disclosed is a method using an array of laser diodes (60), rather than the transducer beam (10), arranged at one end of the base plate (2) and an array of photodiodes (62) at the opposite end. Output (63) of the diodes (62) indicates the height of the studs (5).

In accordance with the present invention, circuit pattern (14) is detachably fixed to a flexible substrate (16) and is placed into a mold (20). A molding compound (22) is then forced into the mold pressing the circuit against the mold wall and filling all of the mold voids. The molded product is thereafter removed from the mold. The flexible substrate (16), on which the metallic circuit is printed, is removed from the molded product leaving the metallic circuit pattern (14) imbedded into the molded product.

There are provided an FRP molded article and a method for production thereof , which has the properties of uniformly reflecting and shielding electromagnetic waves. The molded article comprises a compression-molded laminated structure composed essentially of an electroconductive nonwoven fabric-resin composite surface layer (3), a woven fabric-resin composite intermediate layer (2) and a fiber material reinforced resin substrate layer (1), wherein the nonwoven fabric composite layer substantially contains no bubbles. The molded article can be produced by placing, on a mold, an electroconductive nonwoven fabric substantially containing no liquid resin material, a woven fabric or a prepreg thereof, and a mixture of a reinforcing fiber material and a liquid crosslinkcurable resin composition; subjecting the molding materials to depressurization treatment in the mold; and then subjecting the molding materials to compression molding. The molded articles can be advantageously used, for example, as reflecting dish antennas as well as shielding sheets or boards for electromagnetic waves. In the preferred embodiment, the molded article contains about 90% or less of the cured resin component by weight of the resin component of the corresponding conventional molded article, whereby deformation due to molding strain is decreased.
