    摘要: The present invention relates to a surge arrester (1, 21) for a domestic robot assembly including a perimetral wire (2) connectable to a control station (3), such as robotic lawn mower assembly. The surge arrester (1, 21) comprising a ground rod (4), a set of control station connectors (51, 52), a set of perimetral wire connectors (61, 62), and a protection circuit (7a) arranged between the set of control station connectors (51, 52) and the set of perimetral wire connectors (61, 62). The protection circuit (7a) comprising a first electrical path and second electrical path from the perimetral wire connector (61, 62) to the control station connectors (51, 52), and at least two surge protecting elements (75; 71, 72, 73) connected to and along each electrical path. Each surge protecting element (71, 72, 73) is further connected to the ground rod (4), such that the protection circuit (7a) is able to discharge at least a portion of a transient surge, entering from the set of perimetral wire connectors (61, 62), via the at least two surge protecting elements (75; 71, 72, 73) to the ground rod (4).

    摘要: Anti-arcing circuits are described herein that are configured to prevent or substantially mitigate arcing when a power adapter is connected/disconnected from a client device. The anti-arcing circuit restricts power supplied when a connection of a connector of a power adapter to the adapter interface is not fully established. The anti-arcing circuit is further configured to detect when a connection is made and remove the restriction to supply power for operations of the client device. In one approach, the anti-arcing circuit includes two different paths and components associated with a detection mode and operational mode respectively. In the detection mode, power supply is suppressed and a current pulse may be sent to determine if a connection is established. If current is detected, a switch is made to operational mode and power for normal device operations is supplied.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for providing transient overstress protection with active feedback are disclosed. In certain configurations, a protection circuit includes a transient detection circuit, a bias circuit, a clamp circuit, and a sense feedback circuit that generates a positive feedback current when the clamp circuit is clamping. The transient detection circuit can detect a presence of a transient overstress event, and can generate a detection current in response to detection of the transient overstress event. The detection current and the positive feedback current can be combined to generate a combined current, and the bias circuit can turn on the clamp circuit in response to the combined current. While the transient overstress event is present and the clamp circuit is clamping, the sense feedback circuit can generate the positive feedback current to maintain the clamp circuit turned on for the event's duration.
