    摘要： A frame coding unit (13) generates individual picture signal information from a moving picture signal Vin, and outputs a frame code value InfVal_F which is a numeric value to be obtained as a result of coding picture signal information of each frame. A variable length coding unit (16) decomposes the frame code value InfVal_F into unit frame code values Val_F which are basic units of coding, converts the unit frame code values Val_F, into frame code words Code_F using only a single code table (16a), and constructs a frame stream by combining the converted frame code words Code_F. A multiplexing unit (17) multiplexes a header stream which is constructed through a method equivalent to a conventional method and the frame stream, and constructs a picture coded signal Str.

    摘要： An error correction coding system employs a single check symbol from an arbitrary sequence of information symbols to provide single error correction at the symbol level. The sequence of information symbols may in fact also be arbitrarily long. The coding system of the present invention provides both a method and apparatus for encoding the check symbol and a method and apparatus for error correction based upon the single coded symbol character. The system is particularly applicable for use in conjunction with bar code recognition systems but is in fact applicable to a broad range of coding systems, including optical character recognition and ordinary alphanumeric codes.

    Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung ein Computerprogramm sowie eine Datenverarbeitungsanlage.

    摘要： A signal encoding method according to the present invention is a signal encoding method of dividing a coding target signal as an object of coding into partition units and performing arithmetic coding based on probability-related information in the partition units, which comprises (1) a configuration information deriving step of analyzing the coding target signal in each of the partition units to derive as configuration information, information about an initial value of the probability-related information used for the arithmetic coding of the coding target signal in the partition unit in question; (2) a coding step of performing the arithmetic coding of the coding target signal in each of the partition units, based on the configuration information derived in the configuration information deriving step; and (3) a configuration information adding step of adding a header containing the configuration information to the arithmetic-coded signal in each of the partition units.
