摘要: An audio or video encoder and an audio or video decoder are based on a combination of two audio or video channels (201, 202) to obtain a first combination signal (204) as a mid signal and a residual signal (205) which can be derived using a predicted side signal derived from the mid signal. The first combination signal and the prediction residual signal are encoded (209) and written (212) into a data stream (213) together with the prediction information (206) derived by an optimizer (207) based on an optimization target (208) and a prediction direction indicator indicating a prediction direction associated with the residual signal. A decoder uses the prediction residual signal, the first combination signal, the prediction direction indicator and the prediction information to derive a decoded first channel signal and a decoded second channel signal. In an encoder example or in a decoder example, a real-to-imaginary transform can be applied for estimating the imaginary part of the spectrum of the first combination signal. For calculating the prediction signal used in the derivation of the prediction residual signal, the real-valued first combination signal is multiplied by a real portion of the complex prediction information and the estimated imaginary part of the first combination signal is multiplied by an imaginary portion of the complex prediction information.

The method comprises: acquiring basic encoding information and a basic quantization parameter corresponding to a current image to be encoded in a video, and calculating loss information of the current image to be encoded on the basis of the basic encoding information (202); mapping the basic quantization parameter to obtain an initial enhancement quantization parameter (204); using the initial enhancement quantization parameter to perform bit rate calculation to obtain an initial enhancement bit rate, and if there is a difference between the initial enhancement bit rate and a preset target enhancement bit rate, adjusting the initial enhancement quantization parameter to obtain a target enhancement quantization parameter (206); encoding the loss information on the basis of the target enhancement quantization parameter to obtain target enhancement encoding information, and obtaining, on the basis of the basic encoding information and the target enhancement encoding information, target encoding information corresponding to the current image to be encoded (208); and then performing data transmission on the target encoding information. The use of the method can improve the quality of multimedia video encoding.

In one embodiment, the video content may be encoded using a multi-resolution and/or multi-quality scalable coding approach that reduces computational and/or energy load on a client device. In one implementation, a low fidelity image is obtained based on a first full resolution image. The low fidelity image may be encoded to obtain a low fidelity bitstream. A second full resolution image may be obtained based on the low fidelity bitstream. A portion of a difference image obtained based on the second full resolution image and the first full resolution may be encoded to obtain a high fidelity bitstream. The low fidelity bitstream and the high fidelity bitstream may be provided to e.g., a receiving device.

摘要: For interlaced B-fields or interlaced B-frames, forward motion vectors are predicted by an encoder/decoder using forward motion vectors from a forward motion vector buffer, and backward motion vectors are predicted using backward motion vectors from a backward motion vector buffer. The resulting motion vectors are added to the corresponding buffer. Holes in motion vector buffers can be filled in with estimated motion vector values. An encoder/decoder switches prediction modes between fields in a field-coded macroblock of an interlaced B-frame. For interlaced B-frames and interlaced B-fields, an encoder/decoder computes direct mode motion vectors. For interlaced B-fields or interlaced B-frames, an encoder/decoder uses 4MV coding. An encoder/decoder uses "self-referencing" B-frames. An encoder sends binary information indicating whether a prediction mode is forward or not-forward for one or more macroblocks in an interfaced B-field. An encoder/decoder uses intra-coded B-fields ["BI-fields"].
