    Abstract: The disclosure relates to an initialization method for the smart device and the device thereof.
    The method includes: receiving an initialization audio signal played by a target device (S101), wherein, the initialization audio signal is the audio signal of the target characters obtained by encoding the source data of the initialization data for the smart device; decoding the initialization audio signal according to the pre-stored correspondences between the pre-set characters and a source data of the pre-set characters, so as to obtain the source data of the initialization data (SI02), wherein, the pre-set characters at least includes said target character; initializing the smart device according to the source data of the initialization data (S103). The technical solution can improve the input efficiency of the initialization data and automatically complete the initialization of the smart device through initializing the audio signal, without extra requirements on the hardware of the smart device and the target device as well as the communication distance.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a technique for determining the presence of a peripheral device (23, 26) in a service area of a local network (2). The local network includes a gateway (20) for accessing a communications network (1) and at least one relay device (21, 24). The peripheral device and the relay device(s) are arranged to communicate with other devices via a radio-access network. The access gateway controls at least one relay device, so that the latter scans frequencies for accessing the radio-access network.
