    摘要: The present invention is directed to the aggregation of data packets and to super packets for transmission across a communication network. In accordance with the present invention, an identifier associated with individual data packets is examined to determine whether such individual packet is suitable for inclusion in a super packet containing data packets associated with individual data flows. The identification may be included within a field established for a purpose other than marking an individual data packet in connection with forming aggregate packets. In particular, preexisting data fields may be utilized to identify packets for purposes of forming aggregate data streams.

The pre-allocated resources (44) comprise resources normally allocated in response to a call setup request. A first call setup request is received after pre-allocating the resources, and in response to the first call setup request, a packet-switched real-time, interactive communications session is established through the wireless network using the pre-allocated resources of the at least one node (20A).
