Provided are apparatuses and methods in a digital broadcast transmission system for deducing the contents or topology of an ESG fragment, transport object, container or session. In one example, descriptors may be transmitted on a first channel that may correspond to ESG fragments transmitted on a second channel. The first and second channel can be received at a subscriber terminal. The subscriber terminal may thus be apprised of the topology of the ESG fragments to minimize the amount of information the subscriber terminal needs to receive. This provides an optimized overall retrieval of the ESG fragments.

According to the method, a terminal sends media description request information corresponding to OTT media to a multicast server; the terminal receives media description information fed back by the multicast server based on the media description request information, wherein the media description information may include multicast information, and the multicast information may include multicast group information; and the terminal receives, according to the multicast group information, a multicast packet from the multicast server, wherein the multicast packet is generated by encapsulating a media index file corresponding to the media description request information and/or a media content file corresponding to the media description request information.

Methods and apparatus for bandwidth efficient transmission of usage information from a pool of terminals in a data network. A device includes transceiver logic to receive usage tracking and reporting parameters, wherein the usage tracking parameters identify events to be tracked and the reporting parameters identify reporting criteria for each event, scheduling logic to track the events based on the usage tracking parameters to produce a tracking log, reporting logic to process the tracking log based on the reporting parameters to produce a reporting log, and the transceiver logic to transmit the reporting log. A server includes processing logic to generate usage tracking parameters that identify events to be tracked and reporting parameters that identify reporting criteria for each event and a transceiver to transmit the usage tracking parameters and the reporting parameters to one or more terminals.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, an apparatus, and a system for delivering a network video, which relate to the Internet field, and can ensure service quality of a network when the network is congested. The method in the present invention includes: sending a query request to a policy and charging rules function unit PCRF according to a video request sent by user equipment UE; receiving indication information sent by the PCRF; acquiring, when network status information of a cell does not meet a network condition required by the video request service sent by the UE, a providing condition of a video file according to the video request; sending an acknowledgement message to the UE; receiving a second video request sent by the UE; and performing an operation corresponding to the providing condition of the video file, and forwarding, by using an established dedicated bearer, a video file corresponding to the second video request to the UE. The present invention is applicable to a policy and charging control PCC architecture in a wireless network.
