The invention provides a hydrogel, having a floating behaviour, wherein 40 to 90% of a solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the fluid surface and the rest of said solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the container bottom. Said invention also relates to a method for producing the hydrogel and the use thereof for absorbing blood and/or body fluids, in particular, in hygienic articles, or for thickening aqueous solutions and/or suspensions, in particular, for thickening medical waste.

The invention relates to a method for obtaining triterpenes from plants and/or the constituents thereof, in addition to an emulsion whose aqueous and fatty phase is emulsified by the plant extract. The plant extract contains at least one triterpene and/or a triterpene derivative and the emulsion contains at least one oil and/or fat and water. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said emulsion and to the use of said triterpenes in the production of cosmetics and medicaments.
