The invention relates to improved humidity-regulating composite materials comprising a flat carrier material, a water-soluble hygroscopic substance, and a water-absorbent polymer which is polymerised on the carrier material in the presence of the hygroscopic substance, and which contains a softening agent. The invention also relates to a method for producing said materials and to the use thereof for regulating humidity.

The invention provides a hydrogel, having a floating behaviour, wherein 40 to 90% of a solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the fluid surface and the rest of said solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the container bottom. Said invention also relates to a method for producing the hydrogel and the use thereof for absorbing blood and/or body fluids, in particular, in hygienic articles, or for thickening aqueous solutions and/or suspensions, in particular, for thickening medical waste.

The invention relates to a printable composition which has a viscosity of 1 - 1000 mPas and comprises a) 5 - 50 % by weight of super-absorbent polymer particles, b) 10 - 40 % by weight of at least one organic, water-insoluble binder, c) 0 - 10 % by weight of at least one additive, and d) 40 - 80 % by weight of at least one organic solvent. The invention also relates to printed planar materials having at least one surface imprinted with the printable composition, and to the use of the printed planar materials for packaging food items, for packaging moisture-sensitive products, for moisture control in buildings or as membrane in textiles.
