Abstract:
The invention provides a hydrogel, having a floating behaviour, wherein 40 to 90% of a solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the fluid surface and the rest of said solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the container bottom. Said invention also relates to a method for producing the hydrogel and the use thereof for absorbing blood and/or body fluids, in particular, in hygienic articles, or for thickening aqueous solutions and/or suspensions, in particular, for thickening medical waste.
Abstract:
An abradable dry powder coating (22) composition for coating onto a surface (12) for subsequent curing to form into an abradable coating, including a powder (16) formed of uncured thermoset resin with at least 15 volume percent filler, wherein the filler does not substantially melt below the cure temperature of the resin. Method for making the coating composition includes melt-mixing the thermoset resin with at least 15 volume percent of filler, cooling the resulting mass composite, and then breaking the cooled mass composite into powder particles (16). Method of coating an article with an abradable coating includes applying the dry composite powder with the filler therein onto a substrate and curing the dry powder composition, preferably by electrostatic coating. An article is also disclosed which is coated with the abradable coating.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a powder paint which contains 0.05 to 5 wt. %, preferably 0.5 to 2 wt. %, of at least one polyethylene wax which is homogeneously distributed in the powder paint.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Resin particles for molding which comprise 35 to 98 wt.% polytetrafluoroethylene particles having an average particle diameter of 120 νm or smaller, 35 to 2 wt.% particles of a heat-resistant aromatic polyoxybenzoyl ester resin to which water repellency has been imparted, and 30 to 0 wt.% inorganic filler, wherein the resin particles have an apparent density of 0.6 g/cm3 or higher and an average particle diameter of 800 νm or smaller and give a molded article having an elongation at break of 20% or higher. The resin particles for molding not only are free from filler separation and excellent in properties important for powder handling, such as flowability and apparent density, but give a PTFE molding having an extraordinarily high elongation.
Abstract:
A crosslinking agent is provided, prepared by reacting (A) an aminoplast resin; (B) a reactive urethane group-containing adduct and (C) at least one other compound having active hydrogen groups reactive with aminoplast resin (A). Compound (C) is selected from: (i) compounds having the structure (I), wherein X is aromatic; R?1, R2, and R3¿ each independently represents H, (cyclo)alkyl having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, or an active hydrogen-containing group, (ii) compounds having the structure (II) or (III), where R' and R' each independently represents an aromatic group or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and (iii) compounds different from (i) and (ii), having a melting point of at least 80 °C. Further provided are methods for preparing the crosslinking agent curable compositions containing the crosslinking agent, and coated substrates.
Abstract:
A process for making pigmented PVDF-based powder coatings by coagulation and powder based coatings made by the process. The process involves blending a PVDF latex and a water reducible acrylic polymer and pigment dispersion, adding coagulant to precipitate solid PVDF and pigment associated by ionic interaction with acrylic polymer binder, separating solids and drying the precipitate. Also, methods for coating substrates with the powder coating and coated substrates.
