Said device (10) comprises an inlet connection (1) for connecting a compressor, an air dryer unit (32), a first solenoid valve (14) for pneumatically shutting off the compressor and blocking a pipe that is connected to the compressor, and a second solenoid valve (16) for regenerating the air filter unit (32). In order to keep the loss of compressed air during regeneration as small as possible, the pressure in a pipe located between the compressor and the check valve (18) is substantially maintained when the first solenoid valve (14) is excited. The invention further relates to different methods for operating an inventive device (10) preparing compressed air.
