The splice formed has superior tensile qualities. The process is inexpensive and may be accomplished at or near a construction site.

A coupling arrangement (1) for enabling fixing of a body structure member (12) and a structure member (11; 11'). Said coupling arrangement (1) comprises, at least two threaded tubes (3, 4) provided one in either end portion of a passage through a housing (2). The housing being fixed attachable in relation to said structure members and having a threaded passage, wherein a threaded bolt (10) is arranged through said passage. The threaded bolt (10) is adapted to connect said body structure member (12) and said structure member (11; 11') in a coupling position, from which coupling position said threaded bolt (10), via torque limiting elements (5), enables adjusting operation of said threaded tubes (3, 4) in opposite directions along said threaded bolt (10). Thus, the threaded tubes (3, 4) are adjustable to a respective fixed position by screwing the threaded bolt (10). The invention also relates to a vehicle body (20) provided with such a coupling arrangement (1) for enabling fixing of the vehicle body structure, especially where there is a need for tolerance absorption and interior support of a body structure.

The invention relates to an anchoring rod (6) for rock anchoring (self-drilling injection bolts), comprising an outer thread (9) for connecting the anchoring rod (6) to a drilling tool (1) via a coupling sleeve (5). The end of the anchoring rod (6), which is screwed into the coupling sleeve (5), comprises a section (12) which has a reduced diameter in comparison with the outer diameter of the anchoring rod (6). The free end of the section (12) of the anchoring rod (6) with the reduced diameter comprises a bevel (11). An open space (23) is thus formed between the inner surface of the coupling sleeve (5) and the reduced diameter end of the anchoring rod (6). Said space stops the anchoring rod (6) from becoming stuck in the coupling sleeve, even when the end of the rod is plastically deformed during the drilling process, so that the anchoring rod (6) can be unscrewed from the coupling sleeve (5) without applying significant force.

A reinforcing bar connection for concrete construction utilizes a sleeve supporting internal spring washers having flexible inner edges which engage a bar inserted in the sleeve. The reinforced inner edges of the washers bite into the bar and grip the bar preventing withdrawal. The washers have openings which permit the sleeve to be filled with a hardenable matrix such as grout or resin. In a preferred form, shoulder forming wedge grooves are formed in ends of the sleeve. The connection may be used as a dowel socket, a continuity set, or as butt end-to-end bar splice for axially aligned bar of the same or different size. The connection provides not only high compressive and tensile strengths but also will provide the dynamic and/or fatigue characteristics to qualify as Type 2 coupler approved for use in all United States earthquake zones.

A drive connector for elastomerically coupling a drive shaft to a driven shaft. An elastomeric coupling (42) includes openings (74, 80) on opposite ends that are generally 'D'-shaped forming an interference fit with correspondingly shaped ends of the drive shaft and the driven shaft. A web (98) extends transversely within the interior of the elastomeric coupling, limiting the distance that the drive shaft and driven shaft are inserted within the openings of the coupling. The coupling includes a rib (72) that runs longitudinally along its outer length. A sleeve (86) having a groove (90) corresponding in size and shape to the rib is slipped over the coupling and is connected to the driven shaft. The sleeve includes a rigid interior element that is overmolded with an elastomeric material. A cam bearing (48) is fitted over a cam surface (96) on the sleeve (86) and provides a force in one direction, urging a plunger (58) to displace an elastomeric membrane (20) in a pumping cassette (10), forcing medicinal fluid to flow through the pumping cassette. The elastomeric membrane provides the restoring force to the plunger, so that a loop formed on the upper portion of the plunger and disposed around the cam bearing does not receive any force from the cam bearing to move the plunger away from the pump cassette. The elastomeric coupling and sleeve form a relatively compact assembly for coupling the drive shaft to the driven shaft and accommodate minor misalignment between the center lines of the drive shaft and the driven shaft.

A splice sleeve for connecting reinforcing bars in a concrete structure or the like to another entity with the sleeve being rigidly affixed to the reinforcing bar and provided with an anchor structure for anchoring the sleeve to another entity. In one embodiment, the sleeve is frustro-conical and provided with internal rings of equal height having an inner diameter which decreases toward the outer end. In another embodiment, the sleeve is cylindrical with internal rings of unequal height which have an inner diameter that decrease toward the end of the sleeve receiving the reinforcing bar. Hardenable grouting is used between the sleeve and reinforcing bar to positively lock the reinforcing bar, grouting and sleeve together thereby providing a rigid connection between the concrete structure in which the reinforcing bar is incorporated as well as the sleeve and associated anchor structure to another entity.
