A process for producing polymeric films by applying a liquid composition onto a surface of a substrate under vacuum conditions in a vacuum chamber. The composition has a first component which is polymerizable or crosslinkable in the presence of a sufficient amount of an acid; and a cationic photoinitiator which generates an acid upon exposure to ultraviolet radiation, electron beam radiation or both to cause polymerizing or crosslinking of the first component. A gas which emits ultraviolet radiation upon exposure to electron beam radiation is introduced into the vacuum chamber. The composition and the gas are exposed to electron beam radiation to cause the cationic photoinitiator to generate an amount of an acid to cause polymerizing or crosslinking of the first component. The composition is exposed to both electron beam radiation and gas-generated ultraviolet radiation and cured.

Each of the chain components has a zinc-iron alloy ground film formed on an iron-based base material by impact zinc plating and a first coating film formed by using a water-based rust preventive paint including zinc, nitrate, and an organic compound having a mercapto group other than a mercapto group-containing silane coupling agent. The invention discloses a three-layer composite self-lubricating sliding bearing with modified polyimide anti-wear layer, wherein a porous spherical bronze powder layer is sintered on a surface of a steel plate, characterized in that a self-lubricating sliding bearing sheet is formed by covering the porous spherical bronze powder layer with a modified polyimide anti-wear material layer, and then the self-lubricating sliding bearing sheet is manufactured into an article of sleeve-shaped sliding bearing or bearing bush or thrust washer or sliding-board or friction disc or ball seat structural part according to conventional processes. The process for manufacturing the same includes: preparation of a modified polyimide paste; sintering of spherical copper powder; preparation; coating; sintering of the modified polyimide; finish rolling; cutting and forming. The product of the invention possesses excellent performances of high stiffness, high strength, high-temperature resistance, and lead-free, and is especially applicable for the sliding bearings with heavy loading, variable loading and high PV value.

A surface-treated steel sheet excellent in the resistance to occurrence of a white rust, which comprises a steel sheet plated with a zinc or aluminum based metal and a coating film which has been formed by applying, on the surface thereof, a surface treatment composition containing: (a) a water-dispersible or -soluble resin prepared by reacting an epoxy group-containing resin (A) and an active hydrogen-containing compound (B) comprising a hydrazine derivative having an active hydrogen, and preferably a hydrophilic organic component (C), (b) a silane coupling agent and (c) phosphoric acid and/or hexafluorometallic acid, and preferably (d) a water dispersion of a urethane resin, followed by drying, and has a thickness of 0.02 to 5 μm, the coating film comprising an amorphous compound layer containing P, Zn or/and Al, and O and, formed thereon as a barrier layer, a layer containing the epoxy group-containing resin modified with the hydrazine derivative (or, the resin and the urethane resin) as a matrix. The surface-treated steel sheet does not contain chromium in the surface treating coating film thereof and exhibits excellent resistance to the occurrence of a white rust.

The acrylic polymer is added as a top coating, which may be relatively thick to overlie the abraded metallic coating on an obverse side of the substrate. The metallic coating may be a Zinc Nickel alloy and a pre-treatment coating may be applied beneath the top coating.
