Resin masterbatch compositions are provided as closed end pellets having a core including at least one additive and an outer layer comprising a polymer encapsulating the core, in which the thickness of the outer layer if from 0.001 mm to 1 cm. A stabilized composition is prepared from an organic material to be stabilized and the resin masterbatch composition. A process for producing the resin masterbatch composition includes co-extruding in tubular form a core material encapsulated by an outer layer, wherein the core material comprises at least one additive, and the outer layer comprises a polymer, to form a filled tube; passing the filled tube into a sealing device that cuts the filled tube into multiple discrete segments seals and simultaneously seals each end of each discrete segment, thereby forming closed end pellets; and cooling the closed end pellets.

The present invention relates to a method of producing a direct compression tablet composition comprising the step of processing ibuprofen, a hydrophilic polymer, and an inorganic excipient by an extrusion process to produce an extruded composition in which the ibuprofen forms a solid dispersion/solution within the hydrophilic polymer. The invention is particularly useful in preparing oral dissolvable tablets. Also provided are composition comprising an inorganic excipient and ibuprofen within a hydrophilic polymer.

The present invention relates to means for manufacturing micro-beads (polymer micro-particles) comprising thermoplastic polymer and having the average particle size of 10µm or less, and extending into the nano-range. An original filament comprising a thermoplastic polymer is passed through an orifice under an air pressure (P1) and guided to a spray chamber under a pressure (P2; where P1>P2). The original filament having passed through the orifice is heated and melted under irradiation by an infrared beam, and is sprayed in microparticulate form from the orifice by the flow of air generated by the pressure differential between P1 to P2, whereby micro-beads comprising thermoplastic polymer micro-particles having an average particle size of 10µm or less, and even less than 1µm are manufactured.
