The methods further include pressing a leading region of the heated portion of the elongate susceptor through a body surface of the thermoplastic body and into the thermoplastic body. The methods also include operatively translating at least one of the guide structure, the body-contacting structure, and an application tool that includes the guide structure and the body-contacting structure along an embedment pathway for the elongate susceptor.

An implant applicator and method for positioning a resistive implant material on a first plastic component to be used to form a resistive implant weld between that first plastic component and a second plastic component. The resistive implant material is heated and pressed into a targeted surface of the first plastic component to tack the resistive implant into place. The second plastic component is positioned over the tacked resistive implant and a weld formed in a known manner. The resistive implant material can be heated for tacking by passing an electric current through it before it is pressed into the first plastic component by a second member or by contacting the resistive implant material against a separately heated surface prior to pressing it into the first plastic component.

A principal object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a filter element having a resin-molded frame, which permits to easily form the resin-molded frame, even when the filter has a complicated shape. The above-mentioned object can be achieved by providing the method for manufacturing the filter element, which is characterized by comprising the steps of: semi-curing resin in a prescribed shape to prepare a semi-cured resin; inserting forcedly at least one part of a filter into the semi-cured resin; and curing the semi-cured resin into which the at least one part of the filter has been forcedly inserted.
