Disclosed is a coating material comprising 100 parts by mass of an acid-modified polypropylene (A) and at least 450 parts by mass of organic solvents (B), wherein the acid-modified polypropylene has a melting point of 90°C or lower and the organic solvents (B) comprises 80-99 mass% aromatic hydrocarbon solvent (B1) and 20-1 mass% one or more solvents (B2) selected from the group consisting of ester-based solvents, ketone-based solvents, and alcohol-based solvents, the sum of the proportion of the ingredient (B1) and the proportion of the ingredient (B2) being 100 mass%. The coating material may further contain a compound (C) having, in the molecule, two or more functional groups capable of forming a chemical bond with a carboxyl group, in an amount of 0.1-20 parts by mass. The compound (C) having, in the molecule, two or more functional groups capable of forming a chemical bond with a carboxyl group may be one having no hydrolyzable group. Also disclosed are: a coating film formed from the coating material; a layered product comprising the coating film and a substrate film; and a flexible flat cable including the layered product.

The present invention relates to a hot-melt adhesive resin film having an excellent adhesive force and durability to various adherends such as metal, glass, and plastic, and a production method thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a hot-melt adhesive resin film including a first surface layer, a first intermediate layer, a substrate layer having heat resistance, a second intermediate layer, and a second surface layer, which are laminated in this order, in which the first intermediate layer and the second intermediate layer include a resin which is obtained by modifying a copolymer of propylene and 1-butene with maleic acid, and a production method thereof.

The objective of the present invention is to provide: an aqueous coating composition which has excellent adhesiveness to a plastic substrate and which is capable of forming a multilayer coating film, which has excellent finishing property and water resistance and in which mixing of the layers does not occur even when preheating is not conducted after coating and the next process of applying a finishing coat is performed thereafter; and a coating method using the composition. This aqueous coating composition is characterized by comprising an aqueous dispersion of a modified polyolefin (A), an aqueous acrylic resin (B) and a blocked polyisocyanate compound having a specific blocked isocyanate (C).

It is an object of the present invention to provide: a dispersion resin composition for use in a paint, an ink, an adhesive, or a primer that each contains an alcohol or an ether, and which exhibits excellent water dispersibility and can maintain excellent dispersion stability, even when the dispersion resin composition is added to a material containing an organic solvent such as an alcohol or an ether, or even when an organic solvent is added to the dispersion resin composition; and a composition of a paint, an ink, an adhesive or a primer that each contains the dispersion resin composition. In other words, the present invention provides a dispersion resin composition for use in a paint, an ink, an adhesive, or a primer that each contains an alcohol and/or an ether comprising: (a) a polyolefin-based resin containing a polymer mainly composed of olefin monomer units, (b) a nitrogen-containing polyoxyalkylene derivative, (c) a basic substance and (d) water, and also provides a composition of a paint, an ink, an adhesive or a primer, each of which contains the dispersion resin composition.

The present invention provides a cross linked polyolefin thermoset material, comprising maleic anhydride functionalized reactive polyolefin wax cross linked with a polyamine. The thermoset may be made by a method involving reaction of a maleic anhydride functionalized reactive polyolefin wax with a polyamine. The polyolefin may be polyethylene, polypropylene and their copolymers. The polyamine is a primary or secondary alkyl polyamines, alkyl ether polyamines, aryl polyamines. Polyols may be used instead of polyamines, for example alkyl polyols, alkyl ether polyols or aryl polyols.

The present invention relates to a barrier composition comprising a dispersion, emulsion or solution of a polymer, starch or starch derivative; colloidal silica particles and a curing agent capable of cross-linking said polymer, starch or starch derivative and coupling said silica particles thereto. The invention also relates to a barrier layer obtainable from said barrier composition and a method of providing such composition and layer. The invention also relates to a laminated packaging material comprising a substrate layer and a barrier layer formed from a barrier composition on at least one side of the substrate layer. The invention also relates to the use thereof, inter alia to provide a packaging container, a barrier film etc.

An aqueous ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer dispersion which has excellent long-term storage stability, has excellent film-forming properties even when dried at a low temperature or in a short time or applied thick, and gives a film having high gas barrier performance. The aqueous ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer dispersion comprises (A) an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer having an ethylene content of 15-65 mol% and a degree of saponification of 80 mol% or higher, (B) an ethylene/α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer neutralized with a base, and (C) polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 75-100 mol% and a degree of polymerization of 100-3,500, the amount of the polyvinyl alcohol (C) being 0.5-100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer (A).
