Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on one surface of the carrier sheet, and a protective coating layer on the adhesive layer. The protective coating layer comprises a highly reflective protective coating layer operative to bond to concrete cast against it, particularly one that is produced from an aqueous coating comprising an acrylic emulsion, a filler, and a white pigment. The pigment volume concentration of the filler plus white pigment is greater than or equal to 55% by volume. The protective coating layer protects the membrane against weather exposure, tolerates foot traffic and strongly adheres to concrete cast against it. Also disclosed is a waterproofing membrane comprising a carrier sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer, a protective coating layer, and a highly releasable bonding layer. The preferred highly releasable bonding layer comprises nanoscale silica and a binder.

Disclosed are waterproofing membranes comprising the following laminated layers: layer A comprising a waterproofing adhesive; layer B comprising a carrier sheet; layer C comprising a releasable bonding material; and layer D comprising a protective coating; wherein (i) the laminated layers are arranged in the sequential order A-B-C-D; or (ii) the laminated layers are arranged in the sequential order B-C-D-A; or (iii) the laminated layers are arranged in the sequential order C-D-A-B. The membrane does not include a removable release sheet that is typically used to prevent the adhesive from adhering to the carrier sheet or other portion of the membrane when the membrane is rolled up. Also disclosed is a method of making the aforementioned membrane. Preferably, layer C will comprise a water soluble polymer, an alkali soluble polymer, or a homopolymer or copolymer of polyvinyl acetate.

A flat full collar (4) in the centre of the top part of the plate (1) contains a square opening (5) and on the plate (1) is a drainage cover (6), set-up from side walls and top wall, of which the drainage openings (11) which are inside the drain cover (6), make from 20 to 30 % of the total surface of the drainage cover (6). The plate (1), collar (4) and drainage cover (6) are connected together by a connecting screw (10), which is connected to the nut (3) in the drainpipe (9). A drain frame (7), which is made-up of sidewalls and top wall, and has drainage openings (11), can be placed around the drain cover (6).

The reinforcing method of the invention comprises the steps of removing asphalt from a concrete slab 2 of a road bridge, placing a reinforcing fiber sheet 20 onto the upper surface of the slab, preparing a fiber-reinforced composite material by impregnation with a resin 13 and causing the resin to set, coating an adhesive 22 onto a reinforcing material 21 comprising the foregoing composite material, sprinkling sand 23 thereover to form irregularities of sand 23 on the upper surface of the reinforcing material 21, hardening the adhesive 22, then coating a solvent-based asphalt primer 24 onto the sand 23, and placing asphalt 7 again, thereby completing the reinforcing operation.
