    摘要: A fuel injection pump, driven by a cam function to supply fuel to an injector for an injection event. The fuel injection pump includes a body and a pumping plunger (124) reciprocably disposed within the body and has a driven end (122). A cam follower assembly (120) is provided for engaging the cam and includes an advance piston (128) that engages the driven end (122) of the pumping plunger (124) for advancing or retarding the timing of the injection event. The advance piston (128) is movable in response to fluid pressure controlled by an advance control. A follower return spring (136) is disposed between the body and the cam follower assembly (120) and a plunger return spring (146) is mounted coaxially with the follower return spring (136) and between the body and the advance piston (128). The advance piston (128) includes a main cavity (161) and the cam follower assembly (120) includes a housing and the fuel injection pump may also include a balance spring disposed between the main cavity (161) of the advance piston (128) and the housing of the cam follower assembly.

    摘要: A fuel system for fuel injectors of an internal combustion engine is provided with a hydromechanical timing valve (7) having a valve body assembly with a barrel (18) and plunger (26) arrangement. The plunger (26) is displaceable within the barrel (18) under the counterbalancing forces of rail fuel pressure (load) (3) and one or more timing valve springs (28). The relative position of the barrel (18) and plunger (26) determines the effective size of the port (22b,22c) through which timing fluid can flow. In accordance a first embodiment, the plunger (26) has a tapered head which covers and uncovers ports (22b,22c) in the barrel to a greater or lesser extent, thereby creating a variable flow-through cross section. Alternatively, in accordance with other embodiments, the barrel has ports with slot-like orifices of progressively changing widths which coact with a metering groove (34) on the spool to define a variable flow cross section through which the timing fluid must pass. Optionally, for highway motor vehicle applications, to increase fuel economy, a delayed timing advance feature can be incorporated into the timing valve. More specifically, by a controlled leakage effect, the valve plunger (26) can be caused to shift in a direction causing timing to be advanced (timing fluid supply increased) only after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. This delayed timing advance can be produced, in accordance with the invention, via a second, internal plunger, or via a second, diaphragm-operated external plunger.

In the zone of the top dead centre of the pump piston (1), its head (13) cooperates directly with the lower end (11) of the valve body (4), actuating a valve seat (27). This valve seat (27) located between the valve body (4) and the cylinder liner (2) acts as a fuel intake and overflow valve for the feeding system. A pneumatic spring including the cylinder space (42) and the additional piston (44), as well as an actuating means (19), are arranged at the lower end of the pump piston (1). The actuating means (19) is linked with a driving means.

    Die Lösung der Aufgabe besteht in einem Steuerkolben (6) dessen Fortsatz (21) das Rückschlagventil (19) aufstößt, sobald der Steueröldruck in der Ölleitung (16) abfällt. Dadurch wird der Arbeitskolben 3 des Hydrostößels 1 beim nächsten Einspritzhub auf den Anschlag (24) gedrückt, wo er bis zum Ansteigen des Steueröldrucks verbleibt. Dadurch werden schnelle Reaktionen des Hydrostößels mit geringstmöglicher Bewegung des Arbeitskolbens (3) verwirklicht.
    Der erfindungsgemäße Hydrostößel eignet sich vor allem für Industriedieselmotoren mit Einzeleinspritzpumpen.

    摘要: A fuel injector of the open nozzle type, which is capable of achieving SAC pressures (i.e. the pressure of the fuel in the injection chamber just in front of the injector spray holes) in excess of 30,000 psi during injection. The injector assembly (11) of the preferred embodiments includes a plunger assembly (7) having three plungers (9,11,13) arranged to form a hydraulic, variable timing fluid chamber between upper (13) and intermediate (11) plungers and an injection chamber below a lower plunger (9). To prevent leakage from the injection chamber, the fuel supply passage (31) is provided, along with the injection chamber, within a one-piece injector cup (5) and a predetermined minimum seal length, at commencement of injection, between a land portion (9b) of an injection plunger (9) and a wall surface defined by a bore (6) of the injector within which it reciprocates is coordinated to the dimensions of the bore below the land and a predetermined maximum solid fuel height for the injector to result in the minimum seal length being at least one-half of the maximum solid fuel height. To obtain an increase in SAC pressures under low speed operating conditions without exceeding pressure capabilities under high speed conditions, some embodiments have valve arrangements for draining timing fluid from the timing chamber whenever the pressure of the timing fluid therein exceeds a predetermined value.
