Breather chambers (101, 103) are provided above the lubrication chamber (102) and interconnected through breather passages (B1-B4) with a chamber (90) into which working medium is discharged from the working chamber. Mixture of working medium leaked from the working chamber into the lubrication chamber (102) and oil is separated at the breather chambers (101, 103) and oil is returned to the lubrication chamber (102) and the working medium is returned to the working medium discharging chamber (90) through the breather passages (B1-B4). When the oil and working medium are mixed in the casing of the expansion machine, its effect can be minimized.
