Such membranes are particularly suitable for use in enthalpy exchangers and other applications involving exchange of moisture and optionally heat between gas streams with little or no mixing of the gas streams through the membrane. Such membranes have favorable heat and humidity transfer properties, have suitable mechanical properties, are resistant to the crossover of gases when the membranes are either wet or dry, and are generally low cost.

Said fin/spacer comprises a corrugated product having wave legs (30) which, when mounted, define flow channels for a gas to be condensed. The aforementioned fin (20) comprises at least one condensed liquid drainage channel (36A, 36B) on said wave legs (30) and deviation elements (38) which are designed to drain the liquid towards at least one lateral edge of the wave legs (30). Moreover, said deviation elements are provided with at least one leading edge and/or at least one inclined trailing edge. The invention is suitable for use in main heat exchangers comprising two air distillation columns.

To reduce the migration of condensate formed on the fins (18) of a condensing gas boiler, the fins are inclined downwardly in a direction away from the combustion chamber (10) of an angle of between 2° and 20° to the horizontal. An excess inward migration of condensate can lead to a build up of corrosion products on the inner edges (32) of the fins which may fall into the combustion chamber and disrupt the operation of the boiler. During manufacture, the heat exchange tubes 1 on which the fins are mounted are staggered relative to each other such that the alignment of the tubes inclines the fins at the desired angle.
