摘要:
In an electronic map apparatus, an electronic map is displayed (18) in accordance with map data read out from a DVD-ROM (30). Then, distance display circles which have a common center located at a point on the electronic map and each interconnect points on the electronic map at equal geographical distances from the point are drawn. As a result, it is possible to know an approximate geographical distance to a destination intuitively and easily in the electronic map apparatus which is typically used for car navigation.

The invention is directed to a device (10), for measuring the development of soil and, preferably, of seabed surface (14) profile, characterized by a waterproof/airtight casing accommodating: - an hydraulic pressurized circuit (15), extending along a longitudinal direction, filled with a specific liquid; - a pneumatic circuit (16), extending along the same longitudinal direction, and connected to the above hydraulic circuit (15) at one or more measuring points; this pneumatic circuit (16) is filled with air kept at a constant pressure, or with inert gas allowing pressurization of the above said hydraulic circuit (15); - a number of differential pressure transducers (18,20,22), placed at the above said one or more connections between the hydraulic circuit (15) and the pneumatic circuit (16); - an electronic control circuit including: data acquisition means for acquiring data coming from the above said pressure transducers (18,20,22) and related to pressure measurements at each of said one or more measuring points; means for calculation of pressure difference in respect to a reference point, the so called benchmark (13); means for storage of recorded data; and means for data transmission to a remote control unit (28), the device being adapted to compute the difference of altitude profile at one or more of said measuring points in respect to said benchmark (13), said altitude profile difference being directly proportional to the corresponding detected pressure differences, owing to the communicating vessels principle, and thus allowing a determination of the altitude profile of the device (10) all along its longitudinal length.

A device (10) for detecting deformations in solids includes an insertable casing (11) with inner dividing wall (20) and lower (26) and upper enclosed sections (24) filled with fluid (36 and 34). A first strain-sensing system (38), and a second strain-sensing system (42) are disposed in the lower and an upper enclosed systems respectively. A valve (18) couples the second strain-sensing system to the lower enclosed section (26) and is normally closed. The valve is constructed to open in response to a signal sent from the first strain-sensing system. The second strain-sensing system is constructed and arranged to measure the excessive strain.

A delay compensated Doppler radar altimeter which elimitates the relative delay curvature associated with the energy reflected by a scatterer (x3, x2, xn) located in the along-track direction of an aerial platform (10) for which a most accurate estimation of scatterer elevation is desired. By Doppler shifting each return, the range indicated for each scatterer over its illumination history is equal to the minimum range xh experienced when the relative velocity between the aerial radar (10) and the ground is effectively zero. Compensating each signal so that its entire along-track history can be used for elevation estimation leads to an advantage of more than 10dB in gain improvement over existing systems, and less degradation from surface topography (13).

A tillage implement comprising a frame operably supporting tillage tools, and a soil monitoring system comprising instrumentation operably supported from the frame and disposed to detect soil criteria before, after, or before and after the soil is tilled by the tillage tools. The soil criteria detected is at least one of surface residue criteria, soil clod size criteria and soil shatter criteria.

Ein Aspekt betrifft ein Verfahren, insbesondere ein computergestütztes Verfahren, zur Klassifikation von Messpunkten, insbesondere lidar Messpunkten, in einem topobathymetrischen Datensatz mit folgenden Schritten: - Bereitstellen eines topobathymetrischen Datensatzes, der zumindest eine topobathymetrischen Messung Mj mit einem registrierten Reflexionssignal R(t1) zur Zeit t1 enthält, woraus ein topographischer Messpunkt Xm berechnet wird; -Bereitstellen von klassifizierten topographischen Startpunkten Xs mit zumindest der bekannten Eigenschaft, ob der jeweilige Startpunkt Xs zu einer Wasseroberfläche oder zu einer Landoberfläche gehört; -Berechnen eines ersten Qualitätsindikators Q1 als Funktion der Abstände zwischen dem Messpunkt Xm und den Startpunkten Xs; - Berechnen eines zweiten Qualitätsfaktors Q2 basierend auf der zumindest einen topobathymetrischen Messung Mj, die zur Berechnung des Messpunktes Xm diente;

The present invention relates to toric-shaped see through lenses (20) used in eyewear (70). The lenses have a substantially constant thickness and have a base curve with a substantially constant radius of curvature of at least 15 mm and preferably in the range of 19-23 mm. The toric lenses (20) may be supported in a frame (70) formed of either rigid or flexible material (72, 76 or 82, 84) or attached to a strap assembly (44) adaptable to be worn by the user. Optionally, each of the lenses may be supported by a flanged member (26); ventilation passages (54) preferably extend through the frame (48) and/or the lenses to allow air to circulate around the lenses.
