The device includes: a radiation mechanism, the radiation mechanism being configured to emit a ray to an electrode plate, where the ray is set along a width direction of the electrode plate to cover the electrode plate, and scan the electrode plate along a length direction of the electrode plate; and a probe mechanism, the probe mechanism and the radiation mechanism being disposed opposite on two sides of the electrode plate, where the probe mechanism is configured to monitor a signal transmitted through the electrode plate, and the signal is used to test areal density of a material applied on a surface of the electrode plate.

An injection system for delivering a pharmaceutical fluid to a patient via an injection procedure performed in connection with an imaging procedure, the imaging procedure being performed with an imaging system comprising a scanner having at least one x-ray tube, the injection system comprising: a parameter generator programmed for determining parameters of at least a first phase of the injection procedure wherein at least one of the parameters is determined on the basis of a voltage to be applied to the at least one x-ray tube of the imaging system during the imaging procedure, wherein the parameter generator is programmed to determine at least one of a volume of the pharmaceutical fluid to be injected during at least the first phase and a flow rate of the pharmaceutical fluid to be injected during at least the first phase on the basis of the voltage to be applied to the at least one x-ray tube during the imaging procedure, and wherein the parameter generator is programmed to determine the volume of the pharmaceutical fluid to be injected during at least the first phase by adjusting a volume parameter of a baseline injection protocol, such that the injection system delivers the pharmaceutical fluid to the patient during at least the first phase of the injection procedure according to the determination of the volume of the pharmaceutical fluid to be injected during at least the first phase.

A method for detecting an anomaly in a biological material is disclosed, comprising the steps of: irradiating the biological material with electromagnetic radiation of at least two different energy levels; measuring the amount of radiation transmitted through said biological material at said energy levels; and determining, for each energy level, a transmission value through the biological material based on the radiation through said biological material. Before or after irradiation of said biological material, a reference material of a predetermined thickness is also irradiated with electromagnetic radiation at said energy levels, and the amount of radiation transmitted through the reference material at said energy levels is determined. For each energy level, a calibration reference value is determined based on the radiation transmitted through said reference material. Further, it is determined for each energy level, a calibrated transmission value based on a ratio between said determined transmission value through the biological material for the energy level and said determined calibration reference value for the energy level. Thereafter, a material value based on a relationship between the calibrated transmission value for said energy levels is determined, and the presence of an anomaly in said biological material is determined based on a comparison between the determined material value and an expected material value for said biological material. A corresponding apparatus is also disclosed.

A computer-implemented method for determining a water treatment parameter includes receiving, by a computer, measurements of a fluorescence emission spectrum of a water sample including a first peak emission wavelength and at least a second peak emission wavelength, emitted in response to an excitation wavelength, receiving, by the computer, an absorbance measurement obtained at the excitation wavelength of the water sample, determining, using the computer, a ratio of the measurements at either the second peak emission wavelength, or a sum of measurements at a plurality of peak emission wavelengths including at least the first peak emission wavelength and the second peak emission wavelength, to the first peak emission wavelength, and calculating, using the computer, a value for the water treatment parameter based on a combination of at least the ratio and the absorbance measurement.
