摘要: A system, method and computer-readable medium for maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation of a graphical model are disclosed. The MAP estimation process can include obtaining an encoded data message sent over a 4G cellular wireless network and generating a graphical model representation of the message. The graphical model can be converted into a nand Markov random field (NMRF). The MAP estimation process can also include determining whether the NMRF has a perfect graph structure, and solving for a MAP estimate configuration of the NMRF. The MAP estimation process can further include outputting the MAP estimate configuration, an indication of the MAP estimate configuration, and/or a result based on a combination of the MAP estimate configuration and the encoded data message (e.g., a decoded message).

摘要: Documents are classified (20) into one or more clusters (C) corresponding to predefined classification categories by building a knowledge base (22) comprising matrices of vectors which indicate the significance of terms within a corpus (T) of text formed by the documents and classified (20) in the knowledge base (22) to each cluster (C). The significance of terms is determined assuming a standard normal probability distribution, and terms are determined to be significant to a cluster if their probability of occurence being due to chance is low. For each cluster, statistical signatures comprising sums of weighted products and intersections of cluster terms to corpus (T) terms are generated and used as discriminators for classifying documents. The knowledge base (22) is built using prefix and suffix lexical rules (38) which are context-sensitive and applied selectively to improve the accuracy and precision of classification.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of performing written character recognition, including sequentially comparing a given input character with one of a series of stored character models. The step of comparing further includes the steps of: decomposing the given input character into one or more segments in accordance with a segmentation scheme associated with the present character model; evaluating the segment or segments against a segment model associated with the present character model, such that the evaluation produces a score which measures the degree of conformity with the model; repeating said step of comparing for a plurality of character models in the series of character models; and selecting the character model which is assigned the highest score and classifying the input character as the character associated with that character model.
