The divider's voltage ratio has a value between one hundred and one million, In order to achieve these high voltage ratios, a third resistor (13) is electrically connected in parallel with the second resistor. The trace of the second (12) and of the third resistor (13) each overlap on one end at least in part with a first contacting terminal (B) and on the respective other end at least in part with a second contacting terminal (C). A compact size of the divider is maintained by arranging the first and second contacting terminals in an interdigitated manner.

It is composed of resistive material deposited on an isolating substrate (1), said resistor having a serpentine layout (2)and including a first trim bar (4) made of conductive material for each serpentine turn (2A, 2B). It also includes a second trim bar (5) for every serpentine turn whereby for said second trim bar made of conductive material, said first and second trim bars (4, 5) are partially overlapping the areas (2A) of said serpentine layout to which these trim bars are respectively connected through their respective ends.
