    摘要: A method of manufacturing a surface-mount encapsulated reed relay comprises providing a metal lead-frame 16,17 having conductors 16 for connecting the relay 10,11 to a circuit. A plastics plate 14 is insert-moulded to the lead-frame so that the conductors 16 extend through the plate. Unwanted lead-frame parts 17 are cut away on one side of the plate and a reed relay capsule 10,11 and operating coil 13 are connected thereto. A housing 23 is fitted to the plate 14 and embraces the capsule and coil and soft elastomeric material is injected into the housing. Any remaining unwanted lead-frame parts 17 are cut away externally of the housing and the exposed conductors are formed to lie in a common plane substantially co-planar with a face of the relay which will in use lie against a circuit board. In an alternative method, two plates 33,34 are insert-moulded to the lead-frame 27 in a spaced-apart disposition, a U-shaped housing 37 co-operating with the plates to form an enclosure for the relay capsule and coil.

    摘要: The invention relates to an electrical switching device (1), especially a high-frequency switching device, comprising an elongate electrical switching element (4), a contact end (6) of which is disposed between two opposite contact elements (7a, 7a) that are transversally spaced apart from each other. Said switching element (4) can be selectively moved perpendicular to the longitudinal direction thereof towards one or the other opposite contact element (7a, 7b) by means of two adjusting elements that are located on both sides next to the switching element (4). In order to eliminate or at least reduce frictional processes and the risk of the electrical contact being damaged by abrasion, the switching element (4) is made at least in part of magnetic material while the adjusting elements are formed by two magnet assemblies (12a, 12b), the magnetic force of one magnet assembly (12a) or the other magnet assembly (12b) being selectively reducible or increasable.

    摘要: A new board mounted electromechanical device (103) is provided that mounts to a relay substrate (122) to form a low profile reed relay (100). The reed relay (103) is electrically connected to the electrical contacts (128) via a signal traces (130) and additional electrical traces (130) located on the same side of the relay substrate (122) which connect to the relay"s signal and shielding. Additional traces (130) on both sides of the signal traces of the reed relay (103) provide a co-planar waveguide to maintain the desired impedance of the signal path. The reed relay (103) is mounted in an inverted manner into a cut-out (134) in the main circuit board (132) so that the other portion of the need relay (103) itself is sits within the cut-out (134) in the main circuit board (132). As a result, the need relay component (103) is recessed below the surface of the main circuit board (132) resulting in an overall low profile circuit board.

    摘要: A relay comprising an electromagnetic coil (3) wound on an insulating bobbin (2), the central cavity (29) of which encloses a central spring-biased contact (10) actuated by a magnetic armature (11) in response to energization of the coil, to make or break contact with one or more fixed contacts (8, 9) also enclosed. A U-shaped member (6) and heel plate (13), both of highly magnetically permeable material, surround the coil and complete the magnetic circuit for flux generated by the coil. In one modification a permanent magnet (12) interposed into the cavity aids or repulses the flux generated by the electromagnet, depending on their respective directions. In accordance with another modification the bobbin and the enclosing coil are elongated to include a plurality of sets of contacts which are being simultaneously actuated.
