The present disclosure provides an ultrasonic-frequency hybrid pulse GMAW welding power source device, including a constant voltage source for providing a constant voltage to a BUCK-type main circuit, the BUCK-type main circuit, a constant current source for providing a constant current to an ultrasonic-frequency pulse current switching circuit, and the ultrasonic-frequency pulse current switching circuit, where the constant voltage source is connected to the BUCK-type main circuit; the constant current source is connected to the ultrasonic-frequency pulse current switching circuit; the BUCK-type main circuit is in parallel connection to the ultrasonic-frequency pulse current switching circuit; the BUCK-type main circuit is used for providing a first output current for welding, which is in the form of a direct current or pulses; the ultrasonic-frequency pulse current switching circuit is used for providing a second output current for welding, which is an ultrasonic-frequency pulse current. The device superposes the ultrasonic-frequency pulse current and the current in the form of a direct current or pulses, to improve the performance of droplet transfer in the conventional direct-current or pulse GMAW, thereby concentrating arc energy, greatly improving arc stability, and reducing the influence of arc blow.

A switching regulator circuit incorporates an offset circuit, connected in a control loop of the regulator circuit, that, in response to a signal indicating an imminent load current step, adjusts a duty cycle of a power switch for the current step prior to the regulator circuit responding to a change in output voltage due to the current step. In one embodiment, a load controller issues a digital signal shortly before a load current step. The digital signal is decoded and converted to an analog offset signal in a feedback control loop of the regulator to immediately adjust a duty cycle of the switch irrespective of the output voltage level. By proper timing of the offset, output voltage ripple is greatly reduced. The current offset may also be used to rapidly change the output voltage in response to an external signal requesting a voltage step.

According to the invention, the control unit is designed such that it activates the boost converter (20) for a mains DC voltage (Udc) above the rated intermediate circuit DC voltage (Unenn) such that said converter generates an intermediate circuit DC voltage (Uzk) identical to the mains DC voltage (Udc) or an intermediate circuit DC voltage, which is greater at most by a predetermined offset value (Uoffset), and feeds said intermediate circuit DC voltage into the pulse rectifier.
