摘要: Apparatus and associated method and computer program products involve a highly efficient uninterruptible power distribution architecture to support modular processing units. As an illustrative example, a modular processing unit includes an integrated uninterruptible power system in which a PFC-boost AC-to-DC conversion occurs between the utility AC grid and the processing circuit (e.g., microprocessor) loads. In an illustrative data center facility, a power distribution architecture includes a modular array of rack-mountable processing units, each of which has processing circuitry to handle network-related processing tasks. Associated with each modular processing unit is an integrated uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to supply operating power to the network processing circuitry. Each UPS includes a battery selectively connectable across a DC bus, and a AC-to-DC rectifier that converts an AC input voltage to a single output voltage on the DC bus. The regulated DC bus voltage may be close to the battery's fully charged voltage.

The surgical instrument system can further include a plurality of sensors configured to detect one or more error conditions, a plurality of indicators, and a controller in communication with the plurality of sensors and the indicators, wherein the controller is configured to selectively activate the indicators to indicate the error conditions detected. A surgical instrument can comprise a plurality of actuators and a plurality of actuator locks, wherein the controller can actuate one or more of the actuator locks to indicate the error condition detected.

摘要: Circuits and methods providing a electronic power supply applicable to any dual supply rail systems, which require a smooth and uninterrupted output supply and a replica power path and autonomous mode of operation from the system power supply are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the power supply is applied to a real time clock. An Innovative Replica Power Path concept and circuit implementation ensures the smooth and uninterrupted transfer of power from one input source to the other. The circuit features a Latched Supply Comparator that guarantees the commutation to the Replica Power Path only happens after the voltage is settled. Zero power consumption from the back-up energy source is achieved in the presence of an alternative higher voltage source. The generated RTC supply voltage does not suffer from abrupt changes when the voltage level of the main system power source (battery or charger) is connected or disconnected. The invention allows for maximum utilization of the energy left in the main battery, thus extending the life of the lower capacity backup battery/super-cap.

摘要: An uninterruptible power supply operates between a main supply input, a battery and a load, and comprises an input converter and an output converter. In a first mode of operation, AC mains power received at the supply input is converted by said input converter and output converter in series to provide an AC power supply to the load. In a second mode of operation, stored energy is released from the battery via the output converter to maintain the AC power supply to the load. A further converter can be used during the first mode of operation to charge the battery from a charging supply input. The charging current bypasses the input converter, allowing charging rate to be increased, without increasing a power rating of the input converter. The further converter may be bidirectional and be used also in the second mode.

Each switch part includes a plurality of FETs which are serially connected in the same direction such that a cathode side of a body diode is arranged on a load connection part side, and the number of plurality of FETs is the number which is determined such that a sum of forward drop voltages of the body diodes of each FET exceeds the difference between a full charge voltage and a discharge voltage of the battery power source. The power source switching circuit of the present invention can realize switching of power sources with high reliability.
