The adjustment mechanism includes: a rotation providing member (133) for rotating the button fastener (20) to be oriented toward the predetermined circumferential orientation by contacting the base (21) of the button fastener (20) which deviates from the predetermined circumferential orientation in the circumferential direction, and a constraining member (140) which is biased by an elastic member (138) to be positioned in an initial position where the constraining member (140) can constrain the pins (22) against one side surface (121a) of the transport path (122). The fastener clip (11, 131) includes a plurality of fasteners (13, 133) which may be used, for example, in attaching a button to a garment or a piece of fabric, each fastener (13, 133) comprising a filament having a foot (17-1, 137) at one end. The fastener clip (11, 131) also comprises at least one runner bar (19-1, 141), each fastener (13, 133) being connected to the runner bar (19-1, 141) by a severable connector post (23-1, 143). The fastener attaching tool (51, 101) includes a pair of needles (57-1, 57-2). Each needle (57-1, 57-2) has a knife edge formed on its side which is adapted to sever a connector post (23-1, 143) from its associated runner bar (19-1, 141). The fastener attaching tool (51, 101) also includes an ejector mechanism (61) which is slidably mounted back and forth within the body of the fastener attaching tool (51-101) and is rearwardly biased by a spring (59). Likewise, the stud magazine (56) continually supplies studs from a stud hopper to the stud transfer wheel (54), which in turn continually supplies studs to the stud die wheel (42). The eyelet or stud is held on the die (45, 46) of the die wheel (41, 42) and the stripper (57, 58) of the transfer wheel (53, 54) by a vacuum (60). The vacuum (60) is applied from a vacuum source through ports (81, 82, 83, 84) in each wheel to the die (45, 46) or stripper (57, 58) interface with the eyelet or stud. The vacuum in a transfer wheel operates from the point it receives an eyelet or stud from the magazine until the point where the eyelet or stud in transferred to the die wheel (42). Similarly, the vacuum in a die wheel operates from the point it receives the eyelet or stud from the transfer wheel to the time the eyelet and stud are assembled in the web at the nip (43). A single drive input rotates a gear (106) at the base of one wheel, which in turn synchronously rotates the other wheels through a gear train at the wheel bases.

Provided is a button fastener transfer device which can detect a fastener in which one or more legs are bent radially outward in a transfer process of the fastener. The button fastener transfer device (30) is for transferring a metallic fastener (20) to a button attachment section (110), in which a button member (10) is to be attached to a fabric (1) with the fastener (20). The fastener (20) comprise an annular base (21) and a plurality of legs (22), which extend from the base (21) and are spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the base (21). The button fastener transfer device (30) comprises: a transfer path (31) for passing the fastener (20) with the base (21) down; a movable member (32) movable in the transfer path (31) for moving the fastener (20) downstream in the transfer path (31); a rotation applying part (51) capable of contacting the fastener (20) moving in the transfer path (31) and configured to rotate the fastener (20) in the circumferential direction of the base (21); at least one first conductive member (61, 62) and at least one second conductive member (33, 40, 50), which are normally electrically isolated from each other; a detection part (60) configured to detect a non-normal fastener (20) having at least one non-normal leg (22a) bent radially outward non-normally; and an energization mechanism configured to cause an electric current to flow between the first conductive member (61, 62) and the second conductive member (33, 40, 50) if the detection part (60) detects the non-normal fastener (20).
