摘要:
Polymeric multilayer optical films, and laminate bodies that include such films, are cut or subdivided into one or more discrete pieces by removably applying a first and second liner to opposed major surfaces of the multilayer optical film. Laser radiation is then directed at the multilayer optical film through the first liner in such a way as to produce cut lines that define a plurality of pieces of the first liner and of the multilayer optical film. Thereafter, the plurality of pieces of the first liner are removed from the plurality of pieces of the multilayer optical film while the pieces of multilayer optical film are supported by the second liner. Application of the first liner to the multilayer optical film can be accomplished with electrostatics.

An automatic photographing film developing and scanning apparatus includes a film developing portion (1) that automatically performs predetermined developing processing of a photographed non-developed film led by a leader, a film scanning portion (2) that scans a processed film developed by the film developing portion to generate a digitalized image and a film guide portion that guides the processed film to the film scanning portion, the film guide portion being disposed on a film transferring path between the film developing portion and the film scanning portion. The film guide portion (20) is provided with a leader cutting portion which cuts the leader from the processed film and a film stagnating portion which absorbs a film traveling speed difference between a film traveling speed in the film developing portion and that in the film scanning portion by temporarily slackening the processed film transferred from the film developing portion into a downwardly hanged loop before transferring the processed film to the scanning portion.

The invention concerns a machine and a method for automatically restoring cinematographic films comprising connections produced by adhesive tapes, by unwinding the film in front of means (28) detecting the connections, stopping the unwinding, holding the film on either side of the detected connection with clips (30), cutting the film in the middle of the connection, eliminating the bits of adhesive tape, cleaning the film and fixing a new connection, then proceeding with the unwinding, eliminating with means (34) the overlapping lateral portions of the new connection and visually controlling the new connections with means (36). The invention enables to automatically restore films comprising connections consisting of adhesive tape.

Described herein is a method of removing splicing tape (30) from two filmstrips (10, 20). Trailing edge (12) of filmstrip (10) has an aperture (14) formed therein over which at least a portion (32) of splicing tape (30) overlaps. At a splice removal station (40) comprising a pair of spaced apart support surfaces (42, 44) which defined a gap (46) therebetween, a gripper device (48) passes through aperture (14) to grip portion (32) of the splicing tape (30) and to detach it from trailing edge (12) of filmstrip (10). As gripper device (48) is pulled downwards through gap (46), splicing tape (30) is drawn over edge (50) on support surface (42) to detach it from leading edge (22) of filmstrip (20).

Described herein is a method and apparatus for cutting and de-splicing a roll of spliced filmstrips, which are transported on a film path (32) through the apparatus, to form filmstrip leading and trailing ends and re-shaping each end to their desired configurations. The apparatus (30) has a splice cutter (70, 72, 74) located along the film path (32) for forming two filmstrip ends with residual splices thereon. Punch and die assemblies are located adjacent to the splice cutter (70, 72, 74) for re-shaping the ends of the filmstrip and removing the residual splice. Moveable alignment guides are provided adjacent to each punch and die assembly for aligning the film prior to cutting and re-shaping operations. A plurality of flexible guides (50, 52, 54, 56) located along the film path (32) for guiding the spliced and de-spliced filmstrips therealong.
摘要:
A template having a desired filmstrip configuration which can be used to hold and re-shape a damaged filmstrip for manual re-shaping operations having, a lower guide plate for receiving the undamaged portion of the filmstrip having a short end configured in the desired end of filmstrip shape, a locating feature for engaging a hole in the filmstrip, a guide for aligning an edge of the filmstrip, a matching upper guide plate for receiving the filmstrip between the plates and holding the filmstrip while the damaged portion of the filmstrip is removed and the undamaged portion of the filmstrip is re-shaped, is described. A method for re-shaping the filmstrip end using the template is also described.

A method is described for communicating the scene orientation of an exposed strip of left or right hand load photographic film to photo finishing equipment to enable imaging parameters to be set automatically which includes the steps of splicing a first exposed strip of film (10) to a second exposed strip of film (12) with a film-splicing label (32), encoding the label (32) for left or right hand load of the second film with low resolution indicia (38, 40), and feeding the spliced first and second films to a film-splicing label reader for reading the code and automatically setting the parameters for normal or inverted scene orientation. A film-splicing label (32) encoded with indicia (38, 40) for identifying the scene orientation and a method for splicing strips of film with the label (32) are also provided.
