Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external airbag device that increases the flexibility of creating artistic designs of vehicles. SOLUTION: An airbag element 14 is stored in a folded state in a door mirror 12, provided on a vehicular door 28, for viewing the rear part of a vehicle. The airbag element 14 is inflated by the supply of a gas from an inflator 16 when a collision body collides with a vehicle and inflated to the vehicle front side of a front pillar. Impact energy is absorbed by the state where the collision body hits the developed airbag element 14. This way, the airbag element 14 is developed from the inside of the door mirror 12 to the vehicle front side of the front pillar, so that it is not necessary to provide an airbag door used for a hood airbag device on a hood of a vehicle. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably ensure reaction force of a knee airbag at an initial stage of deployment while ensuring a contraction stroke of a steering column at front surface collision. SOLUTION: The column attachment knee airbag device has a knee airbag module 14 using a flexible module case 44; and a reaction force member 16 extending between the module case 44 and a column tube 22 so as to allow the contraction action of the column tube 22 and causing the reaction force of the knee airbag 46 at an initial stage of deployment. Even if an interference article in a column cover 32 is slightly interfered to a module case 44 at contraction of the column tube 22 for absorbing energy, the module case 44 is easily deformed, thereby, the contraction stroke is ensured. Further, by providing the reaction force member 16 between the module case 44 and the column tube 22, the reaction force of the knee airbag 46 at the initial stage of deployment can be obtained. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress and prevent the obstruction of contraction action of a column tube at a collision as much as possible. SOLUTION: A module case 48 of an airbag module 54 is supported on a rear end side of an inner tube 26 by a mounting bracket 70. The mounting bracket 70 is slidably formed of a first bracket 78 and second bracket 80. An opening 72 is formed in a bottom wall part 48C of the module case 48. When an airbag 52 is inflated, a part 52C thereof is extruded out of the opening 72 to press the inner tube 26. The airbag module 54 is slid downward by the reaction R. The column lower cover 22 is also separated. In this way, the interference between the airbag module 54 and the bottom 40A in the housing 40 can be avoided at the contraction of the column. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular seat cushion device and an inflator bag maintaining comfortableness to sit on. SOLUTION: When an inflator operates when suddenly decelerating by a front collision of a vehicle, high pressure gas is jetted inside the inflator bag 15 from the inflator. The inflator bag 15 pushes up a seat cushion spring 14 and a seat cushion by inflating and unfolding by filling the jetted high pressure gas inside. The seat cushion spring 14 and a retainer 17 move together with the inflator bag 15, and the retainer 17 falls off together with inflation of the inflator bag 15, and the seat cushion spring 14 is displaced upward by rotating around a rear frame 24 in a rear end part. The inflator bag 15 lifts a front part of the seat cushion, and applies restraint to an occupant. Abstract: In the occupant protection device according to the present invention, a restraint body joined with a driving mechanism is located near a target area of a seated occupant while being surrounded by an interior decoration member. Upon predicting a collision of the vehicle, the driving mechanism is actuated to protrude the restraint body from an opening in the interior decoration member for restraining the movement of the target area upon collision by its side facing the occupant, and when the collision is avoided, the driving mechanism returns the protruded restraint body in the opening of the interior decoration member. The restraint body is provided in the vicinity of its outer periphery with a retaining hole, a clip to be inserted in and retained by the retaining hole, and a guide surface for guiding the clip into the retaining hole for helping the restraint body to return in the opening of the interior decoration member. By this guide mechanism including the retaining hole, the clip and the guide surface, the restraint body is able to return to the opening of the interior decoration member smoothly without deteriorating the appearance.
