PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integral multilayer flat sheet membrane formed from more than one polymer solution in which at least one layer is an ultrafiltration membrane.SOLUTION: The invention relates to an integral multilayered composite membrane having at least one ultrafiltration layer prepared by co-casting or sequentially casting a plurality of polymer solutions onto a support to form a multilayered liquid sheet and immersing the sheet into a liquid coagulation bath to effect phase separation and form a multilayered composite membrane having at least one ultrafiltration layer.

Contaminant viruses can be efficiently removed almost without losing the activity of protein by subjecting a plasma protein composition having a high risk of viral contamination to a treatment with a porous membrane having a pore size greater than a single-particle size of the virus, particularly by subjecting a plasma protein composition to a fractionation treatment by precipitation, before the porous membrane treatment. Particularly, a fibrinogen composition substantially free of non-enveloped viruses, Parvovirus among others, can be provided. By the application of the present invention, a safe plasma protein preparation free of viruses can be conveniently provided.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for viral inactivation of a blood product containing viruses.SOLUTION: The method includes a process for contacting the blood product containing viruses with a solvent of di- or trialkylphosphate and a non-ionic detergent, wherein the protein yield of the blood product is at least 90%.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method for the product of a blood platelet or cell, which is safe against bacteria or viruses and has an increased storage life.SOLUTION: This is a method for producing a retentate and a filtrate by diafiltrating a raw material. The method includes at least a single diafiltration for a buffer change. The raw material contains a whole blood or a blood product, the retentate contains a diafiltrated stabilized blood product, and the filtrate contains a contaminating plasma protein.

Asymmetric ultrafiltration layer exposes wider pore side to feed. Separation of viruses and proteins are carried out using hydrophilic polymers.
