PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a separator having a small amount of residual moisture and a low shrinkage ratio at a high temperature; and a rechargeable lithium battery excellent in life characteristics and safety characteristics.SOLUTION: A separator according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a porous substrate and a coating layer that is positioned on one or each of the two sides of the porous substrate. The coating layer includes a filler (A) having an average particle diameter of about 0.3 μm to about 2 μm; and a binder (B) including an organic polymer, and inorganic particles, organic particles or a combination thereof, where average particle diameters of the inorganic particles and the organic particles are 5 nm to 200 nm.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which makes operation time of a cell fuse long in a low current region by improving heat radiation characteristics of a lead tab.SOLUTION: A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly; a case in which the electrode assembly is housed; a cap plate coupled to the case; an electrode terminal provided on the cap plate; a lead tab which is electrically coupled to the electrode assembly and the electrode terminal and includes a cell fuse; and a heat radiation member which is isolated from the cell fuse and coupled to the lead tab.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative active material, a negative electrode employing the same, and a lithium battery employing the negative electrode.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a negative active material, a negative electrode employing the same, and a lithium battery employing the negative electrode. The negative active material includes a composite core, and a coating layer formed on at least a part of the composite core. The composite core includes a carbonaceous base and a metal/metalloid nanostructure disposed on the base. The coating layer includes a metal oxide coating layer and an amorphous carbonaceous coating layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery module which improves safety when an internal pressure of a battery is increased in the battery module.SOLUTION: A battery module according to one embodiment of the invention includes: a secondary battery including an electrode assembly including a first electrode and a second electrode and a case in which the electrode assembly is housed; a short circuit member which is provided at the case and is electrically connected with the second electrode; a module frame including a conductive part which is electrically connected with the first electrode and a cut part formed in the conductive part, the module frame provided on an outer surface of the case; and a short circuit member which is provided on one surface of the case so as to be spacially separated from the conductive part and is electrically connected with the conductive part when a shape is deformed.
