Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a resin-layer coated carrier excellent in charging stability while reducing an environmental load due to the use of a large amount of a solvent as a problem with a wet method. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a resin-layer coated carrier, the resin-layer coated carrier is manufactured by stirring magnetic base particles and resin fine particles in a powder passage by using a manufacturing apparatus provided with a rotary stirring section including a rotary disk circumferentially provided with a stirring blade and a rotary shaft, and the powder passage including a rotary stirring chamber and a circulation tube. The method includes: a fine resin particle adhering step where magnetic base particles and fine resin particles are inputted into the powder passage with the rotary stirring section rotating, and the fine resin particle are adhered onto a surface of the magnetic base particle; a spraying step where at least a liquid that plasticizes the fine resin particles is sprayed with spray gas from a spraying section on the magnetic base particle and the fine resin particle which are in a fluidized state in the power passage; and a film-forming step, where rotation by the rotary stirring section is continued to fluidize the magnetic base particles and the fine resin particles until the fine resin particles adhered to the magnetic base particles are softened to form a film. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated carrier for suppressing decrease in a conveyance amount caused by changes in a carrier shape with lapse of time, and maintaining high quality image output for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The carrier 1 is a coated carrier having wear resistance and comprising a carrier core material 6 and a coating layer 7 coating the carrier core material 6, in which the surface of the carrier core 6 is partially exposed. When a shape factor (SF-2) of the carrier core material 6 is denoted as a first shape factor, that of the initial carrier 1 is denoted as a second shape factor, and that of the coated carrier changed by wear of the carrier core material 6 and the coating layer 7 of the initial carrier 1 is denoted as a third shape factor, respectively, the first shape factor ranges from 120 to 150, and a ratio of the third shape factor to the second shape factor is not less than 90%. Thereby, as a wear balance in the resin coated portion where a concave portion is formed can be optimized and decrease in the shape factor with time can be prevented, decrease in a conveyance amount of the developer can be suppressed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing capsule toners having low-temperature fixability, a high-temperature off-set resistance, and an anti-blocking property and capable of preventing toner filming, a capsule toner, and a two-component developer.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing capsule toners includes: a step for manufacturing toner base particles for forming a release-agent layer; a step for manufacturing fine-particle-adhesion toner base particles; and a step for forming a resin coating layer. In the step for forming the resin coating layer, while spraying a liquid spray that is a liquid for plasticizing resin fine particles, the toner base particles for forming the release-agent layer on the surface of which the resin fine particles and inorganic particles are stuck, are stirred to form a film of the resin fine particles, and then the resin coating layer where the inorganic particles are dispersed in the resin is formed on the surface of the toner base particles for forming the release-agent layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a capsule toner using toner base particles and resin fine particles, by which resin fine particles are sufficiently disintegrated to suppress generation of white spots in a fixed image, and to provide the capsule toner.SOLUTION: The production method of a capsule toner includes a cooling step, an adhering step and a filming step. In the cooling step, resin fine particles are cooled to a temperature equal to or lower than the brittleness temperature. In the adhering step, the resin fine particles cooled in the cooling step is fed as kept at the temperature equal to or lower than the brittleness temperature into a powder flow passage where the toner base particles flow, and the toner particles and the resin fine particles are mixed while stirring to adhere the resin fine particles to the surfaces of the toner base particles to obtain toner base particles with resin fine particles. In the filming step, stirring is continued until the resin fine particles on the surfaces of the toner base particles with resin fine particles form a film so as to form a resin coating layer on the surfaces of the toner base particles.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a capsule toner, in which production of coarse powder can be suppressed and a resin coating layer with uniform film thickness can be formed, and to provide the capsule toner.SOLUTION: The production method of a capsule toner includes a step of preparing a dispersion liquid of resin fine particles, a step of preparing resin fine particles, a deposition step, a spraying step and a film forming step. The step of preparing resin fine particles uses a 4-fluid nozzle, in which a dispersion liquid of resin fine particles is made to flow through two liquid flow passages while a spray gas is made to flow in two gas flow passages, and the dispersion liquid of resin fine particles together with the spray gas is sprayed through the 4-fluid nozzle so as to volatilize the dispersion medium to obtain dried resin fine particles. The dried resin fine particles thus obtained are deposited on the surfaces of toner base particles in the deposition step. In the spraying step and in the film forming step, the resin fine particles deposited on the toner base particle surfaces are softened to form a resin coating layer on the toner base particle surfaces.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin layer coated carrier with excellent charge stability and a developer.SOLUTION: A resin layer coated carrier contains magnetic base particles consisting of a magnetic material, and the layer of a resin consisting of a resin particles, a conductive material, and a charge control agent to coat a surface of the magnetic base particles. The resin layer is made by sticking a coating material, which is a mixture of the resin particles, the conductive material, and the charge control agent, to the surface of the magnetic base particles to soften and thin the resin particles. The resin layer is also made by dissolving the charge control agent to a liquid plasticizing the resin particles and spraying to soften and thin the resin particles.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a capsule toner with which a capsule toner including a coating layer having uniform thickness can be obtained at a high yield, and to provide a capsule toner having superior image stability and proper fixability. SOLUTION: The method for producing a capsule toner includes fine-resin particles adhering step of making the fine-resin particles adhere to surfaces of toner-base particles; a spraying step of spraying a spray liquid for making the toner-base particles plasticize, and the fine resin particles to the toner-base particles and the fine resin particles in a fluidized state; and a film-forming step of fluidizing the toner-base particles and the fine resin particles, until the fine resin particles adhered to the surfaces of thetoner-base particles are softened to form a film. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a capsule toner achieving both of low blocking property and filming resistance, and to provide a capsule toner, a developer, a developing device and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for producing a capsule toner includes a resin fine particle-adhering step, a spraying step and a filming step. In the resin fine particle-adhering step, toner base particles and a plurality of resin fine particles having different glass transition temperatures are fluidized by use of a rotary agitation device by rotating a rotary agitating means so as to make the plurality of resin fine particles adhere to the surfaces of the toner base particles. In the spraying step, a spray liquid that plasticizes the toner base particles and the plurality of resin fine particles is sprayed by a spraying means to the toner base particles having the plurality of resin fine particles adhering thereto and being in a fluidized state as rotation of the rotary agitating means is continued. In the filming step, rotation of the rotary agitating means is continued until the plurality of resin fine particles adhering to the toner base particles are softened to form a film, so as to form a resin coating layer on the surfaces of the toner base particles. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capsule toner and a method for producing the toner, wherein an increase in a toner charge amount is suppressed while preventing injection of charges to the toner from a photoreceptor drum or a developing roller, and an image free from decrease in image density or fog is obtained for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The capsule toner comprises toner particles each having: a toner base particle containing a binder resin and a colorant; and a resin layer containing resin fine particles and coating the surface of the toner base particle, wherein fine particles having a function of controlling the electric resistance are contained on the interface between the toner base particle and the resin layer and in the resin layer.
