Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain an electric resistance between terminal boards to an almost constant level and maintain a specified amt. of hydrogen to be generated without increasing the electric power consumption by having metallic electrodes carried on a pair of current collectors. CONSTITUTION:The metallic electrodes 13 are joined by mechanical press fixing force to both surfaces of an ion exchange resin membrane 11. A cathode terminal board 14 and an anode terminal board 15 assure the volume of an electrolytic cell chamber 16 by a spacer 17 and are inserted and held to bolts 18. The metallic electrodes 13 are carried by a pair of the current collectors 12 by this constitution. Since the joining attained is between the same kinds, peeling does not arise in spite of freezing and vibrating. Then, the metallic electrodes 13 and the ion exchange resin membrane 11 are maintained at almost the same electric resistance from the start of use. The electric resistance between the metallic electrodes 13 and a pair of the current collectors 12 is kept small. As a result, the specified electric resistance is maintained between the cathode terminal board 14 and the anode terminal board 15 and the specified current relating to a hydrogen generation reaction is maintained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable supply of pressurized hydrogen gas inside a hydrogen tank into an exhaust pipe with certainty and speed immediately after starting an engine in winder, for instance. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen generator 4 houses a cel 4a which generates hydrogen gas through water electrolysis. A water tank 2 is provided to supply water to the hydrogen generator 4. A water separator 4 separates the hydrogen gas generated in the hydrogen generator 4 from water flowed together with the hydrogen gas and feeds back the water to the water tank 2. A hydrogen tank 6 stores antifreeze and also stores the hydrogen gas component separated by the water separator 5 with a pressure higher than that inside an exhaust pipe. A gas-liquid separator takes in the pressurized hydrogen gas stored in the hydrogen tank 6 together with the antifreeze, feeds back the antifreeze to the hydrogen tank 6, and discharges the pressurized hydrogen gas component to the exhaust pipe.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hydrogen gas storage device which is advantageous in preventing hydrogen gas from leaking from a gas discharging port on a bottom of a hydrogen tank. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen gas storage device has a hydrogen tank 1 provided with a seal-in chamber 10 in which hydrogen gas is sealed, water W stored in a bottom portion of the seal-in chamber 10 to cover a gas discharging port 11, a solenoid valve 72 which opens and closes the gas discharging port 11, a vapor-liquid separator 3 which separates the hydrogen gas in the mixture is separated from water, a combustion system for combusting the separated hydrogen gas in an exhaust pipe 8, and a hydrogen generator 5 which generates the hydrogen gas. When the water in the seal-in chamber 10 shows a specified level, the hydrogen generator 5 is operated according to a signal from a level switch 60 for generating the hydrogen gas. The resultant hydrogen gas is fed into the seal-in chamber 10.

Consequently, since the catalyst attached to the exhaust pipe can be warmed up and activated in an early stage, during cold start of an engine, purification of unburnt HC at the time of cold start can be fully performed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct output sensitivity of a fuel pressure sensor accurately by correcting the output sensitivity only in such a condition as an air fuel ratio is controlled at a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A torque shown in the chart is calculated by a torque calculating means M2 shown in the chart on the basis of the combustion pressure signal from a combustion pressure sensor M1 for detecting combustion pressure of an internal combustion engine, and the fuel supplying amount of the internal combustion engine is calculated by a fuel supply amount calculating means M3 on the basis of the detection signal for operation condition of the internal combustion engine. Output sensitivity of the fuel pressure of sensor is corrected by a sensitivity correcting means M5 from the ratio of the fuel supply amount to the torque shown in the chart, only when it is judged by an air fuel ratio state judging means M4 that the air fuel ratio is at a prescribed value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obviate any engine stall by determining an increase or decrease of fuel injection quantity after judging of whether a torque drop in an engine is caused by rich or lean in an air-fuel ratio, and eliminating a system malfunction, such as compensating the injection fuel for increment, whereas the air-fuel ratio at transition is rich. CONSTITUTION:At the time of engine transition, a fuel injection quantity is compensated so as to make an engine generated torque detected and the desired torque found on the basis of a driving state equal to each other. In the above system, the presence of a misfire at the engine transition is detected by a means 201. In addition, when an engine generated torque immediately after the misfire happening at the engine transition is more than the specified value as well as when air-fuel ratio being fed to the engine is a rich state and less than the specified value, it is so judged that the air-fuel ratio being fed to the engine is in a lean state by a means 202. Moreover, when the air-fuel ratio is in the rich state, it is compensated in a direction of decreasing the fuel injection quantity, while the air-fuel ratio is in the lean state, it is controlled by a means 203 so as to compensate it in a direction of increasing the fuel injection quantity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent worsening of drivability by correcting a fuel injection amount one by one according to a reduction amount when generation torque of an engine is reduced to a value lower than a given value during transient running of an engine and prohibiting sampling during correction of fuel injection. CONSTITUTION:Since, at the initial stage of acceleration during the use of heavy fuel, a learning value by light fuel is short in a fuel correction amount, the rise of torque is slow, and drivability is not excellent. Thus, in this case, it is preferable that a fuel injection amount is corrected one by one according to an amount of torque reduced from target torque. In which case, when, during transient running of an engine, generation torque of an engine is reduced to a value lower than a given value, a fuel injection amount is corrected one by one according to a reduction amount by means of a fuel injection amount correcting means 201. When a fuel injection amount is corrected by means of the fuel injection amount correcting means 201, sampling is prohibited by means of a sampling prohibiting means 202. This constitution prevents worsening of drivability during transient running of an engine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a cleaning rate by providing a HC shortage judging means, and injecting water into an intake system when a quantity of an activated seed generated by partial oxidation of HC is judged to be insufficient at the time of reducing NOx, in an internal combustion engine provided with a lean NOx catalyst in its exhaust system. CONSTITUTION:A lean NOx catalyst 6 which consists of zeolite for carrying transition metal or noble metal, and reduces NOx under presence of HC in oxidizing atmosphere, is provided in the exhaust system 4 of an internal combustion engine 2. A water injecting valve 18 for injecting water when it is switched ON is provided in this intake system 12 (or a combustion chamber). Pressure water supplied from a water pump 24 is supplied in the water injecting valve 18 through a water supplying pipe 22. It is judged by a control device 30 whether the operating condition is such that a quantity of an activated seed generated by partial oxidation of HC is insufficient for the quantity of activated seed required at the time of reducing NOx or not. And when it is judged to be in insufficient operating condition, such control is carried out as to inject water from the water injecting valve 18 into the intake system 12.

CONSTITUTION:A torque detecting means (a) is to detect the torque TRQ of an engine, and a torque memory means (b) is to store the torque TRQ detected by the torque detecting means (a). A torque lowering quantity operating means (c) is to operate the torque lowering quantity TRQ of detected torque TRQ0 in relation to the specified cycle of an engine, i. e., the torque TRQ of one cycle before, for example, to consider this torque lowering quantity DELTATRQ as the torque fluctuation quantity. That is, since torque fluctuation quantity is considered to be the specified frequency of the engine, i.e., the torque lowering quantity in relation to the torque of one cycle before, for example, proper torque fluctuation quantity can be obtained instantly in the case where the engine is in a transient state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify control and surely obtain a defined EGR ratio irrespective of engine speed by controlling the opening of a recirculation control valve in accordance with the magnitude of variation of the combustion pressure of one cylinder after regulating the output torque of each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A combustion pressure sensor 35 is provided on a first cylinder. An intake manifold 12 is connected to an exhaust passage 18 through an exhaust recirculating passage 19. A recirculation control valve 37 provided in the exhaust recirculating passage 19 is controlled in its opening/closing via a control circuit 41 to vary the recirculating quantity of exhaust gas. The difference in output torque among each cylinder is detected by a detecting means A and the output torque of each cylinder is regulated by a regulating means B so as to substantially remove the difference in output torque. After regulating the output torque of each cylinder, the opening of the recirculation control valve 37 is controlled by a control means C in accordance with the magnitude of variation in the combustion pressure of the first cylinder.
