CONSTITUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with fuel injection valves 8 disposed cylinder by cylinder, an ignition means 3 for starting ignition in the compression stroke of each cylinder simultaneously with the start of cranking at the time of starting the engine, a combustion detecting means 21 for detecting combustion in each cylinder, and a judging means 20 for judging the generation of fuel leakage to the fuel injection valve of the specific cylinder in the case of detecting combustion by the combustion detecting means 21 in the explosion stroke of this cylinder meeting ignition timing before fuel injection timing at the time of starting the engine.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To control the pressure of fuel to be injected accurately. CONSTITUTION: Fuel discharged from a fuel pump 13 is supplied into a fuel reservoir 10 and the fuel in the fuel reservoir 10 is distributed to each fuel injection valve 3. A fuel pressure sensor 42 is installed on the fuel reservoir 10 and an O2 sensor 43 is installed on an exhaust manifold 9. The fuel pressure in the fuel reservoir 10 is usually controlled based on the output signal of the fuel pressure sensor 42 and the O2 sensor 43 and controlled based on the output signal of the O2 sensor 43 at the time of the trouble of the fuel pressure sensor 42.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a burnt gas subject to loop scavenging so favorably extending over almost the whole body of a combustion chamber, and thereby check any blow-by of fresh air as well as to control any intake resistance by covering an opening of each air feed valve to be situated in an area held by plural pieces of specific straight lines with each mask wall respectively. CONSTITUTION:Plural number of air feed valves 12, 13 are symmetrically set up in one side of a cylinder head inner wall surface 3a in relation to a symmetrical plane K-K including a cylinder axis. On the other hand, proper-numbered exhaust valves 9, 10 are set up at the other side of the inner wall surface 3a. In the above structure, two straight lines L1a, L2b, extend through a center C of the inner wall surface 3a from the shade center of these air feed valves 12, 13. In addition, each of two second straight lines L1a, L2b, the angle of which with the first straight line becomes the maximum, among each straight line extending so as to contact with an outer peripheral edge of the shade part of each exhaust valve being situated at the air feed valve side in relation to the symmetrical plane K-K from the shade part center likewise, is set up. Each opening of these air feed valves 12, 13 in an area held by respective straight lines is covered with each of mask walls 16 and 19.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To scavenge already burnt gas in good condition by providing a pair of intake valves on one side in a cylinder head, providing at least three exhaust valves on the other side thereof, in symmetric positions respectively, providing a mask wall at the opening port of one side intake valve opposing to the exhaust valve on one side of symmetric surfaces, also providing a mask on the other side thereof in the same way, so as to make new air flow in a loop shape. CONSTITUTION:Intake valves 9 to 11 are provided on one side of a cylinder head inner wall surface, exhaust valves 12 to 14 are provided on the other side, and the valves 9 to 14 are provided symmetrically in relation to a symmetric surface K-K. For example, the opening port of the intake valve 9 is covered with a cylindrical inner circumferencial wall part so as to form mask wall 16. The mask wall 16 covers a range within straight lines L1a, L1b which hold inward the whole of the umbrella parts of the exhaust valves 12, 14 from the umbrella part center of the intake valve 9, and a mask angle alpha1 becomes a minimum value. Thus new air flows in a loop shape so as to scavenge already burnt gas in the circumferential rim part of a combustion chamber in good condition.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To scavenge the whole inside of a combustion chamber so favorably in a two-cycle internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:Three exhaust valves 90-92 are set up in one side peripheral part of a cylinder head inner wall 3a, and two air feed valves 93, 94 in the other side peripheral part of the inner wall 3a, respectively. In addition, one air feed valve 95 is set up in a central part of this inner wall 3a. In time of having considered a pair of straight lines extending from the center of a shade part of the air feed valve 93 so as to hold the whole shade part of all exhaust pipes 90-92, an opening of the air feed valve 93, being situated within a range held between such a pair of straight lines L1a and L1b where a nip angle alpha1, namely, a mask angle alpha1 to be formed between these paired straight lines, as becomes minimized, is covered with a mask wall 98. A mask angle alpha2 of the air feed valve 94 and another mask angle beta of the air feed valve 95 are also determined in the same manner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the atomization of injection fuel as well as to prevent any crack in a valve gap part of a cylinder head from occurring, in a direct- injection type diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:A pair of air feed valves are set up at one side of a cylinder inner wall surface 3a, and a pair of exhaust valves are installed at the other side of this inner wall surface 3a. A fuel injection valve 6 is set up in a central part of the inner wall surface 3a. A cavity 14 is formed in the central part of a piston 2 top face. A projection 18 is formed on each valve gap part 3b of the cylinder inner wall surface being situated in space between the air feed valve and the exhaust valve. When the piston 2 is situated in and around a top dead center, fuel F1 is sprayed to each projection 18 from each nozzle hole 16 of the fuel injection valve 6, and fuel F2 cast back in collision with the projection 18 is diffused in the cavity 14.

An intake port 6 common to each intake valve 5a, 5b is provided to extend straight horizontally passing from the one intake valve 5a to a part above the other intake valve 5b. When the valves 5a, 5b are opened, the flowing two flows are generated in a combustion chamber 4: a first loop scavenging flow X1 flowing along the circumferential part of the combustion chamber 4 and a second loop scavenging flow X2 flowing in the direction almost vertical to the first loop scavenging flow X1 while passing the central part of the combustion chamber 4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of one-sided wear to the cylinder of a pump plunger by a method wherein a two-piece set distribution port is formed in the plunger, and four distribution passages communicated to the distribution port are formed in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A two-piece set distribution port 8 extending through the axis of a pump plunger 6 and opened to the peripheral side surface of the plunger 6 is located in the plunger 6. Four distribution passages 9 communicated with the distribution port 8 along with rotation of the plunger 6 is formed in a cylinder 11. The distribution passages 9 are arranged with a distance between the adjoining distribution passages, in order, in a 45 deg. arc, a 90 deg. arc, a 135 deg. arc, and a 90 deg. arc in the peripheral direction of the cylinder 11. This constitution prevents one-sided contact of the plunger due to a hydraulic reaction force and prevents one-sided wear of the cylinder.
