    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent any deviation of an air-fuel ratio from its target air-fuel ratio by temporarily increasing a fuel injection quantity at the time of the action of a delay angle and temporarily decreasing the fuel injection quantity at the time of the action of an advanced angle. CONSTITUTION: A basic fuel injection time and an ignition timing are calculated so that it is judged whether it is under warming up control of catalytic converter rhodium 19 or not, for example, whether a regular output signal is generated or not by an air-fuel ratio 23. At first, an ignition timing is delayed and also an intake air quantity is increased during the warming-up control, and next, the ignition timing is maintained in its delay angle condition, and additionally, the ignition timing is advanced, so as to decrease an intake air quantity. Next, an injection quantity primary corrective rate FP is calculated, and a delay angle is judged to be present when FP > 0, is satisfied, and an injection quantity final corrective rate FF is calculated by utilizing an annealed value BD for quantity increase correction, and an advance angle is judged to be present when FP

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the abnormal increase of the temperature of an exhaust system without stopping operation of an engine when a misfire owing to open stick abnormality of a cylinder fuel injection valve. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder injection type spark ignition engine comprises a cylinder fuel injection valve 2 connected to a common delivery pipe 8 and injecting fuel directly to the cylinders of an engine 1; a fuel pressure sensor 33 to detect a fuel pressure in a delivery pipe; a sensor 32 to detect the number of revolutions; and a control circuit (an ECU 30) for controlling an engine. The ECU detects the occurrence of a misfire owing to the fluctuation of the number of revolutions of an engine and from a fuel feed amount to a delivery pipe and a fuel injection amount, it is detected that open stick abnormality of a fuel injection amount occurs. During a misfire owing to an opening stick fuel cut and lean burn during deceleration are prohibited. By decreasing oxygen density in exhaust gas from a normal cylinder, unburnt fuel from a misfire cylinder is prevented from being burnt in the exhaust system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide good loop scavenge and good combustion with high air utilization rate in a two-cycle diesel engine with an auxiliary chamber. CONSTITUTION:A pair of first recessed parts 5 are formed on a flat cylinder head inner wall surface 3a, and an intake valve 6 which is disposed at the bottom part of the first recessed part 5 with an inclination to the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a. The second recessed pats 21 are formed in the top surface of a piston 2a which faces the respective first recessed parts 5, and a pair of cavities 23 which form a roughly cylindrical shape around the axial line of the intake valve 6 are formed from the first recessed part 5 and the second recessed part 21. The cavity 23 forms a main chamber. The nozzle hole of an auxiliary chamber is disposed above the surrounding part of the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a which is located between a pair of intake valves 6. A jet guide groove which extends to the cavities 23 from the lower part of the nozzle hole of the auxiliary chamber is formed on the top surface of the piston 2a, and the jet guide groove is connected to the inside of the cavities 23 in a tangential line. The inner peripheral wall surface part 5a of the first recessed part forms a mask wall which covers the opening of the intake valve 6 on an exhaust valve 7 side.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the firing lag interval to the minimum level at all times by calculating the firing lag interval based upon the difference between detected actual firing timing and actual ignition timing then controlling the fuel injection timing such that the calculated firing lag interval is minimized. CONSTITUTION:A firing lag interval theta is related to an injection timing INJT and a firing timing IGT as shown by a formula I, and it can be seen that there is an injection timing INJT for minimizing the firing lag interval theta. Consequently, even if the injection timing is varied, the difference of the firing lag intervals thetabefore and after the injection timing is eliminated (thetan+1-thetan=0), and the injection timing INJT is feedback controlled, with an area for minimizing the firing lag interval theta being employed as a demand area. Since it is controlled such that the firing lag interval is shortest over the entire operating area, vibration, noise, etc. of engine are reduced and the emission or the black smoke in the exhaust gas are prevented from increasing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To finely burn unburnt air-mixture which is injected from the injection port of an auxiliary chamber. CONSTITUTION:Three exhaust valves 9, 10, 11 are arranged on one side of the inner wall face 3a of a cylinder head, and two intake valves 12, 13 are arranged on the other side of the inner face 3a of the cylinder head. Additionally, one intake valve 14 is arranged in the central area of the inner wall face 3a of the cylinder head. The injection port 6 of an auxiliary chamber 5 is arranged between the intake valves 12 and 13, and the injection port 6 is directed to the central area of a main chamber 4. Intake branch passages 31, 32 branched from the respective intake ports 29, 30 are extendedly provided in the vicinity of both sides of the auxiliary chamber 5, and then air heated in the auxiliary chamber 5 is supplied from the intake valve 14 to the main chamber.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase an amount of fresh air supplied to a sub-chamber by opening an injection port of the sub-chamber in the vicinity of a cylinder head inner wall surface, being a portion between a pair of exhaust valves and opposed to an intake valve. CONSTITUTION:A pair of exhaust valves 7 are arranged on one side of a cylinder head inner wall surface 3a, while at least one intake valve 5 is arranged on the other side of the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a. An jetting injection port 10 of a sub-chamber is opened in the vicinity of the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a, being a portion between the paired exhaust valves 7 and opposed to the intake valve 5. Combusted gas is drawn out of the sub-chamber due to the combusted gas abruptly discharged from the exhaust valves 7 at the opening time thereof. A large amount of fresh air is therefore supplied to the sub-chamber.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make new air flow in a loop shape so as to make scavenging in good condition by providing a mask wall opposing to the umbrella part of each exhaust valve on each intake valve which is nearest to the exhaust valve among a plurality of intake valves in a combustion chamber provided with a plurality of exhaust valve. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust valves 9, 10 are provided on the one side of a cylinder head inner wall surface, intake valves 12, 13 are provided on the other side respectively, and also the injection port 6 of an auxiliary chamber is provided on a symmetric position thereof. for example, the distance between the centers of umbrella parts of the intake valve 12 and the exhaust valve 9 is set smaller as compared with that concerning the exhaust valve 10 and the intake valve 12. A mask wall for covering the intake valve 12 is formed by the cylindrical inner wall part 16 of the intake valve 12, and extended along the range of an angle alpha1 (mask wall formed between straight lines L1a, L1b in contact with an outer peripheral edge of the umbrella part of the exhaust valve 9 opposing to the intake valve 12 from the center part on the umbrella part of the intake valve 12. Since new air flows in from the opening port opposite to the mask wall 16 in a loop shape, already burnt gas is scavenged by new air in good condition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform a loop scavenging while to generate a swirl in a cavity by connecting a fresh air guide groove formed on a piston top face into the cavity as a tangent-line to a cavity peripheral wall surface. CONSTITUTION:A fresh air guide groove 15 is formed on a top face 2a of a piston 2 so as to guide a part of fresh air flowing in a loop form into a cavity 14. The fresh air guide groove 15 is connected to the cavity 14 as a tangent-line of a peripheral wall surface of the cavity 14. A swirl around an axis of the cavity 14 is generated by a part of the fresh air guide by the fresh air guide groove 15. The remaining fresh air flows inside a combustion chamber in a loop form to scavenge combusted gas. It is therefore possible to perform a loop scavenging so as to generate a swirl in the cavity 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to perform injection of fuel at a timing matching an operating condition even when a deviation is produced between a current reference position and an actual reference position, by correcting a desired ignition time the base of which is a detecting output from a reference position sensor. CONSTITUTION:In a control device 62, when it is decided by means of output signals from a reference position sensor 30 and an accel opening sensor 32 that an engine is during idle running, an output signal from an ignition time sensor 16 is inputted, and an actual ignition time is detected to determined a fluctuation width. From the calculating value, a difference between a reference position by a detecting output from the reference position sensor 30 and an actual reference position is determined. Based on the difference, a correcting amount, by means of which a desired ignition time by a detecting output from the reference position sensor 30 is coincided with a desired ignition time, the base of which is the actual reference position of a crank shaft, is determined. Based on the difference, fuel is injected at a timing by means of which an actual ignition time is coincided with a corrected desired ignition time.
