Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure such speeds of forward five-speed and backward one-speed that a gear ratio of the maximum speed is 1, by performing a speed change in making three sets of planetary gear mechanism act on organically through first-third clutches and first and second brakes. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 60 is connected to a carrier 34 and a sun gear 31 of a first planetary gear mechanism 30 via clutches C2, C3, and furthermore the carrier 34 is connected to a sun gear 41 of a second planetary gear mechanism 40 and a ring gear 52 of a third planetary gear mechanism. And, it is connected to a sun gear 51 of the third planetary gear mechanism 50 via a clutch C1 and its carrier 54 is connected to an output shaft 80. And these clutches C1-C3 and brakes B1, B2 are selectively operated whereby first gear speed is secured by C1 and B1, second gear speed by C2 and B1, third gear speed by C1 and B2, fourth gear speed by C2 and B2, fifth gear speed of a gear ratio 1 by C2 and C3, and backward speeds by C3 and B1, respectively. Thus, a range of the gear ratio is extendible and, what is more, the transmission efficiency of power is improvable.

Thus, a range of the gear ratio is extendible and, what is more, the transmission efficiency of power is improvable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of speed change shock by enabling almost of all speed changes to achieved only by engagement or release of a single frictional engaging element. CONSTITUTION:In a connecting path of an input shaft IS and a carrier 25 of a double pinion type planet gear train 20, a connecting path of a sun gear 11 of a single pinion type planet gear train 10 and a case, a connecting path of a sun gear 21 of said gear train 20 and the case and a connecting path of a ring gear 13(24) of the single (and double) pinion type planet gear train 10(and 20) and the case are respectively disposed one-way clutches F1, F3, F4 and F2. As a result, speed change between first and second speed stages is achieved by the turning-off of clutch C4 and the turning-on of clutch C2, speed change between second and third speed stages by brake B3, speed change between third and fourth speed stages only by the turning-on of clutch C1 and speed change between fourth and fifth speed stages only by the turning-off of brake B4. Thus, speed change shocks due to the engagement or deviation of timing of a plurality of frictional engaging elements can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To promote the simplification and the miniaturization of a structure by combining a single pinion type planetary gear train with a double pinion type planetary gear train through the selectively engaged first-third clutches and first-third brakes. CONSTITUTION:A single pinion type planetary gear train IC and a double pinion type planetary gear train 20, connecting a carrier 14 to an output shaft OS, are combined by integrally connecting a sun gear 11 and a carrier 25, being connected to an input shaft IS through the first-third clutches C1-C3. When the first-third clutches C1-C3 and the first-third brakes B1-B3 are selectively actuated, a transmission obtains a forward shift of 1-speed by C1, B1, 2-speed by C2, B2, 3-speed by C2, B3, 4-speed by C2, C3, 5-speed by C3, B3 while a reverse shift by C1, B2. Thus relatively simplifying a structure and reducing even a length in the axial direction, the transmission can be miniaturized. While a finer speed change control can be attained from a low speed to an intermediate and high speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To widen the width of change gear ratio in both the lowest speed change stage and the highest speed change stage by constituting so that the speed change of forward six stages and backward one stage at maximum can be enabled by using two pairs of double pinion type planetary gear mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:The forward first speed in which the change gear ratio is largest can be obtained by connecting a sun gear 4 in a second planetary gear mechanism 2 to an input member, and further fixing both a sun gear 3 in a first planetary gear mechanism 1 and a carrier 12 in the gear mechanism 2. And when both the sun gear 3 and a carrier 11 in the gear mechanism 1 are connected to the input member, since the whole rotates integrally, the forward fifth speed in which the change gear ratio is 1 can be obtained. Meanwhile, when the carrier 11 in the gear mechanism 1 is connected to the input member, and further the sun gear 4 in the gear mechanism 2 is fixed, the overdrive stage in which change gear ratio is less than 1 can be obtained. On the other hand, when the sun gear 4 in the gear mechanism 2 is connected to the input member, and further the carrier 11 in the gear mechanism 1 is fixed, the backward stage can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a gear-change shock by providing a one-way clutch on each of connecting passages between an input shaft and the sun gear of a double pinion type planetary gear train, between the sun gear and a case, between the carrier of a single pinion type planetary gear train and the case, and between its sun gear and the case. CONSTITUTION:The gear change between the first gear stage and the second gear stage can be attained merely by the release of a second clutch C2 and the engagement of a third clutch C3. The gear change between the second gear stage and the third gear stage can be carried out merely by the engagement or release of a second brake B2. The gear change between the third gear stage and the fourth gear stage can be carried out merely by the engagement or release of a first clutch C1. And, the gear change between the fourth gear stage and the fifth gear stage can be carried out merely by the engagement or release of a brake B3. Thus, since most of the gear changes can be attained merely by means of the engagement or release of only one frictional engaging element, it is prevented that engine speed is increased, that a large load is generated, or that a gear ratio in the opposite direction to the corresponding gear change is attained resulting from the engagement between plural frictional engaging elements or the shift in the timing of the engagement.

By means of on-off operation of No.1-No.3 clutch means C1-C3, and No.1-No.3 brake means B1-B3, for example, by engaging C1 with B1, the rotation of the input shaft 13 is inputted to sun gears 3, 4 to fix carriers 11, 12 and the ring gear 5 is raced to decelerate a ring gear 6, thus the first forward speed is set up similarly, the second speed by the engagement between C2 and B2, the third speed by the engagement between C3 and B1, the fourth speed by the engagement between C2 and B3, the fifth speed by the engagement between C2 and C3, the sixth speed by the engagement between C3 and B3, and backward motion by the engagement between C1 and B2 can be set up respectively. Thus, a constitution can be simplified and the multi-stage of speed charge such as forward 5 stages or 6 stages, can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain selective control over supplying discharging of the working oil, by forming the discharging-system-passage of a control valve mechanism with an axial oil discharging passage provided on a valve spool, an annular groove that is open to an outlet port made in the side of a cylinder, and a connecting holes provided on both valve spool and the periphery of a piston. CONSTITUTION:A hollow-shaft-shaped piston 14 is fitted inserted into a cylinder 13 in such a manner that oil-tightness is ensured and that the piston 14 can slide in the axial direction. Meanwhile, a slidable, rod-shaped valve spool 15 is inserted into the hollow part of the piston 14 in a slidable manner. The valve spool 15 is provided with a pair of annular grooves 15a and 15b, which are constantly connected to each oil supplying discharging passages 14f and 14g, an oil discharging passage 15c, which is provided coaxially and an end of which is closed, and connecting passages 15d and 15e. In addition, the piston 14 and the valve spool 15 are provided with an annular groove 14j, to which an outlet port 13b is opened, a connecting hole 14k, and a connecting hole 15f, respectively. With this contrivance, an open-type, four-direction control valve mechanism is formed to both piston 14 and valve spool 15, thereby enabling selective control over supplying discharging of the working oil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of electrical control to aim at enhancing the reliability and the like, by providing a pump driven by the difference in rotational speed between a drive side member and a driven side member, for generating fluid pressure, and a device for transmitting the fluid pressure delivered from the pump, proportionally to a direct coupling clutch. CONSTITUTION:When the amount of slip in a direct coupling clutch increases. the difference in rotational speed between a front cover 10 and an output shaft 26 increases, and therefore, the discharge pressure effected in the discharge port 70 of an internal gear pump 62 is increased. Further, this hydraulic pressure is fed from a port 90 into an oil chamber 84 in a drain valve 72 so that a spool valve 76 is moved leftward overcoming a compression coil spring 80. Accordingly, the degree of communication of a port 86 with a train port 88 is decreased so that the drop of hydraulic pressure in a torque converter chamber 14 is decreased while hydraulic pressure acting upon a piston element 34 is increased. As a result, the pressing force of a clutch surface section 36 against a clutch lining 38 is increased, thereby the transmission torque capacity of the direct clutch is increased.
