    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an up-shift after coast down control in an automatic transmission without deteriorating a shock. SOLUTION: A device comprises a coast down control judging means (step 1), reset detection means (step 2) detecting an output request in a prescribed value or more relating to a power source in a condition judging during coast down control, rotational speed difference detection means (step 3) detecting a difference of preset value or more relating to a synchronous rotational speed after an up-shift according to a prescribed rotational speed of a rotary member of an automatic transmission resetting a down-shift point to a car speed in the case of normal speed change control, and an up-shift permitting means (step 4) permitting an up-shift in the case of detecting the rotational speed of the rotary member different from the value or more relating to the synchronous rotational speed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain always an almost constant feedback control characteristic in spite of a difference in engine rotating speed, throttle valve opening and speed change stage of an automatic transmission in a vehicle travel control device to carry out feedback control on the throttle valve opening so that actual vehicle speed becomes target vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:The first correction factor f (NE) determined so that an almost same output torque change can be obtained in spite of fluctuation of engine rotating speed NE, the second correction factor f(theta) determined so that the almost same output torque change can be obtained in spite of the size of throttle valve opening (theta) and the third correcting factor f(s) determined so that an almost same driving force change can be obtained in spite of kinds of speed change stages of an automatic transmission, are found respectively in steps SH1, SH2 and SH3, and an adjusting quantity DELTATA of the trottle valve opening is calculated by feedback control by using these.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent sudden change of engine brake force at the time of down- shift by providing an engine output increase means to increase an engine output in such a way that 4 drive force before the down-shift is almost equal to the drive force after the down-shift at least when the down-shift is completed. CONSTITUTION:In performing down-shift for increasing engine brake force when an accelerator is off, a throttle valve 20 is controlled to be opened by a throttle control computor 35 to a throttle valve opening at which drive force after the down-shift becomes equal to or a little smaller than the drive force before the down-shift. Almost the same engine brake force as that before the down-shift is thus applied after the down-shift, thereby shock caused by sudden increase of the engine brake force is reduced to improve riding comfortableness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform slip control over a lockup clutch surely at the time of deceleration. CONSTITUTION:In a device which controls any slip in a lockup clutch at the time of deceleration, and is made to as to secure an improvement in fuel consumption and a proper engine brake, in order to perform this slip control with certainty, there is performed inlet control which maintains a clamping force of the lockup clutch temporarily to the high clamping side. This inlet control should be done up to t1 or t2 where such a condition that 'engine speed Ne is more than a specified value Ne1 and a variation DELTANe in the engine speed is positivebeta is materilized. In consequence, this slip control surely takes place.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To compact not only a planetary gear mechanism but also the whole of a gear shifter by a method wherein torque from an input member is transmitted to only some one of sun gears to bring a shift step into a state to be incapable of setting. CONSTITUTION:First and second sun gears 1S and 2S are formed integrally with each other or individually, a second carrier 2C and a third sun gear 3C are formed integrally with each other or individually, and second and third ring gears 2R and 3R are formed integrally with each other or individually to form an input element, an output element, or a stationary element in each of above cases. A first ring gear 1R forms the input element, the output element, or the stationary element. As a result, planetary gear mechanisms 1, 2, and 3 perform an acceleration deceleration action in a state that they are formed integrally with each other or individually, and rotation of an input shaft 4 is transmitted to an output shaft 5 in a state that the rotation is shifted, left as it is, or reversed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain forwarding 5-stage gears and a backing 1-stage gear by providing single pinion type first to third planetary gear mechanisms and always linking a first and third ring gears and a second carrier together, while linking a first carrier to a second ring gear via a clutch. CONSTITUTION:Single pinion type first to third planetary gear mechanisms 1-3 are coaxially provided with an input shaft 4 and an output shaft 5, and first and third ring gears 1R, 3R and a second carrier 2c, as well as an output shaft 5 and a third carrier 3c are always linked together. An input shaft 4 is linked to second and third sun gears 2s, 3s and a first carrier 1c via clutches K1-K3 and further to a second ring gear via a clutch K4 and to a first sun gear 2s. By selectively engaging the clutches K1-K4 and brakes B1-B3, a forwarding 5-stage gears and a backing 1-stage gear can be obtained. Thereby, the rotating speed of each element in high speed stages having high using frequency can be suppressed low without applying a load to elements which make high speed rotation, improving durability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve the enhancement in design freedom by housing all the planetary gear type speed-change gears and the greater part of a plurality of friction engaging gears in the inside of a main housing, and housing a friction engaging gear being used for the attainment of the bottom gear speed in a subhousing, and assembling both housings so as to be detachable. CONSTITUTION:In a main housing 92, first and second planetary gear mechanisms 10, 20, firs and third clutches C1, C3 and hydraulic servo devices 30, 38 thereof, a third brake B3, an one-way clutch 1, and an output shaft OS are housed, and in the central part thereof, an input shaft IS is pierced. In a subhousing 94, a second clutch C2 and the servo device thereof, a first brake B1 being used for the attainment of the bottom gear speed, a hydraulic servo device 36 thereof, and a one-way clutch F2 are housed. When both housings are assembled, they are connected by an intermediate shaft 27. Thus, the assembling workability of the first brake B1 can be enhanced, and also the design freedom can be increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure such speeds of forward five-speed and backward one-speed that a gear ratio of the maximum speed is 1, by performing a speed change in making three sets of planetary gear mechanisms act on organically through first-third clutches and first and second brakes. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 60 is connected to a carrier 54 of a third planetary gear mechanism 50 via a clutch C1 and also connected to a carrier 34 and a sun gear 31 of a first planetary gear mechanism 30 via clutches C2, C3, and furthermore the carrier 34 is connected to a sun gear 41 of a second planetary gear mechanism 40 and a third ring gear 52 respectively. And an output shaft 80 is connected to a third sun gear 51 and a second carrier 44. And, these clutches C1-C3 and brakes B1, B2 are selectively operated whereby first gear speed is secured by C1 and B1, second gear speed by C2 and B1, third gear speed by C1 and B2, fourth gear speed by C2 and B2, fifth gear speed of a gear ratio 1 by C2 and C3, and backward speeds by C3 and B1, respectively. Thus, a range of the gear ratio is extendible and, what is more, the transmission efficiency of power is improvable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce radial size by sharing ring gears in respective planetary gear mechanisms while sharing the outer circumferential side planet pinion in a double pinion planetary gear mechanism and the planetary pinion in a single pinion planetary gear mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 9 is coupled with sun gear 3 in a single pinion planetary gear mechanism 1 and a shared ring gear 4 is fixed to achieve drive 1-speed. The input shaft 9 is coupled with the sun gear 3 and the sun gear 6 in a double pinion planetary gear mechanism 2 is fixed to achieve drive 2-speed. When the sun gear 3 and the ring gear 4 are coupled with the input shaft 9, drive 3-speed having speed change ratio of 1 can be achieved. When the ring gear 4 is coupled with the input shaft 9 and the sun gear 6 is fixed, drive 4-speed can be achieved. When the sun gear 6 is coupled with the input shaft 9 and the ring gear 4 is fixed, reverse stage is realized. Consequently, an output gear having smaller diameter than that of the ring gear 4 can be employed easily.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify structure by using each one of a single pinion type planet gear train and a double pinion type planet gear train and providing first-third clutches and first-third brakes. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft IS is connected to a sun gear 21 of a double pinion type planet gear train 20 through a clutch C1, while being connected to a carrier 25 of gear train 20 and a sun gear 10 of a single pinion type planet gear train 10 through a clutch C2 and to a ring gear 13 of gear train 10 through a clutch C3. A ring gear 24 of gear train 20 is connected to a carrier 14 of gear train 10. A sun gear 11 of gear train 10 is connected to a case through a brake B1. Also, a ring gear 13 of gear train 10 is connected to the case through a brake B2 and a sun gear 21 of gear train 20 is connected to the case through a brake B3. An output shaft OS is connected to the carrier 14 of gear train 10 so that respective speed stages can be provided.
