    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve control characteristic and efficiency by approximating an inverse electromotive force generated in a coil to a sine wave in an external magnetic field type synchronous motor. CONSTITUTION:In a synchronous 3-phase motor having the even number of magnetic pole pairs, permanent magnets 51 to 54 are not arranged in the positions having equal interval but in the positions which are deviated forward and backward from each other by an electric angle of 30 degrees. Namely, electric angle of one magnetic pole pair is set to 330 degrees, while electric angle of the other pair is set to 390 degrees. As a result, an electromotive force generated at the coil of phase U, for example, is deviated in the phase forward and backward in one coil and the other coil and its composite voltage is not generated in the rectangular shape and has a part which is changing step by step at the rising and falling edges. As a result, an electromotive force generated in the coil of each phase, that is, a terminal voltage between phases is approximated to a sine wave to improve control characteristic and efficiency of a synchronous type 3-phase motor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the length of the rotating shaft direction of a motor by a method wherein formed coils in one slot are connected to formed coils in other same phase slots with conducting members individually. CONSTITUTION:Required number of formed coils 20 in one slot are connected to formed coils 20 in other same phase slots individually with conducting members 14 which are laminated in the rotating shaft direction of a motor with insulating layers in crossover coils 10 therebetween. Therefore, coils of the respective phases can be constructed without bundling a plurality of conductors. As a result, a variation in inductance values and fluctuation in torque can be reduced and the efficiency of the motor can be improved and, by utilizing the crossover coils 10, protruding lengths of coil ends in the rotating shaft direction can be reduced. With this constitution, the length of the rotating shaft direction of the motor can be reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the reluctance torque Tr of a synchronous motor having salient poles on the outer circumference of its rotor and increase the output torque of the motor. CONSTITUTION:Permanent magnets 52 are attached to the outer circumference of the rotor of a three-phase synchronous motor and salient pole 71 and or 74 is provided between the permanent magnets 52. A slit 81 and or 84 is formed in the center part of the salient pole 71 and or 74 in a radial direction and, further, the inner circumference side end of the slit 81 and or 84 is extended along the inner circumference. As a result, a loop-shaped magnetic path in the salient poles is difficult to be formed and a d-axis inductance Ld is reduced. On the other hand, a q-axis inductance Lq is increased. As a result, a reluctance torque Tr which is proportional to the difference between the a-axis inductance Ld and the 1-axis inductance Lq can be increased. Therefore, if the output torque of the synchronous motor is increased, the performance (for instance, the running distance, the maximum speed, etc.) of an electric vehicle on which the motor is mounted can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize a torque constant variable type motor having a smaller size and a simpler structure. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 45 is assembled in a rotor body 16. A piston 46 for driving a motor hydraulically or by a ball screw in an axial direction is provided in the cylinder 45. The piston 46 is coupled to a thrust ring 28 through a bearing 48, and the ring 28 is coupled to a yoke 22. When the piston 46 moves in an axial direction of a rotor, this movement is transmitted to the yoke 22 through the ring 28, and the yoke 22 and a permanent magnet 24 on its surface slide in the axial direction of the rotor. A positional relationship to a core 34 of a stator is varied, and an operating magnetic flux area and/or gap is altered. As a result, an output torque and a maximum speed are varied. Accordingly, since means for varying the positional relationship between the rotor and the stator is assembled in the rotor, an entire structure is simplified and reduced in size.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization and to measure precisely an angle of rotation and the number of rotations by providing separate means to detect an absolute signal, an incremental signal and a reference position signal for a rotary disk and a fixed plate respectively. CONSTITUTION:An absolute (or incremental) signal detecting means outputs signals showing higher-order 8 bits b8-b15 (or lower-order 7 bits b1-b7) of an angle of rotation, and the angle of rotation is detected roughly (or finely) from these signals. A reference position detecting means is constructed by providing an annular magnet 26 having a reference position pattern recorded thereon in juxtaposition on the back surface of a rotary disk 14. A variation in a magnetic pattern of the magnet 26 is detected by magnetism detecting elements 28A and 28B, reference position signals ZA and ZB thereof are made to be 9-bit signals B1-B9, higher-order 8 bits B1-B8 are corrected subsequently by the lowest-order bit of the 9-bit signals and the highest-order bit b15 of the rotation angle signals, and the corrected bits are taken as the number of rotations. Accordingly, the correct number of rotations is obtained when pulses obtained by the signals ZA and ZB are found at a position whereat the highest- order bit b15 of the rotation angle signals is not varied.
