PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wholly aromatic polyamide filament having high strength and elastic modulus. SOLUTION: The wholly aromatic polyamide filament is characterized by including a molecular weight distribution (PDI) of 1.5-2.3 and a paracrystalline parameter before heat treatment (g II ) of 1.7-1.9%. The wholly aromatic polyamide filament can be produced by minimizing a deviation in the degree of polymerization by making polymerization reaction of monomer for polymerization uniformly progress over all regions of a polymerization reactor 20. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixing agitator and a mixing-agitating method that can stably supply slurry at a high flow rate with uniformly mixed foam and reduce the amount of foam to be supplied to the slurry. SOLUTION: The mixing agitator (10) includes a case (20), a rotary disk (32), a slurry discharge port (45), a slurry feed pipe (46) and a hollow connecting section (47). A foam supply port (41) is disposed in a predetermined position of an annular wall to supply foam to the slurry immediately before flowing into the slurry discharge port. The slurry discharge port is provided with a blade (51) for forming a slit. The slurry and foam are mixed in the slurry discharge port. The foam is not substantially subjected to agitation impact of the mixing agitator, and the amount of loss of the foam is reduced. A method for alkylating a hydrocarbon comprising at least one isoparaffin and at least one olefin that includes introducing a liquid catalyst and the hydrocarbon into a high shear device; processing the liquid catalyst and the hydrocarbon in the high shear device to form an emulsion comprising droplets of hydrocarbon dispersed in the liquid catalyst; introducing the emulsion into a vessel operating under suitable alkylation conditions whereby at least a portion of the isoparaffin is alkylated with the olefin to form alkylate, wherein suitable alkylation conditions comprise a bulk reaction temperature of from about 38° C. to about 90° C. and a bulk reaction pressure in the range of from about 1379 kPa to about 34 MPa; and removing a product stream comprising alkylate from the vessel.

PURPOSE:To prepare an emulsion which is stable with time in the stage of mixing two liquids and preparing an emulsion by atomizing ultrafinely the one liquid and suspending the same in the other liquid without using a costly emulsifier at all. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 9 which rotates in the state of fitting in a stator 8 is provided to a revolving shaft 4 positioned between the inlet 2 and outlet 3 of a hermetic case 1. Many annular partition walls 8d of the same height drawing a concentrical circle are disposed on one side of a stationary disc 8a provided with a central hole 8b to be loosely fitted therein with the shaft 4 in the stator 8, and communicating grooves, etc. communicating toward a radial direction running the center of the stationary disc are disposed to the respective partition walls. Many annular partition walls 9b of the same height drawing a concentrical circle are disposed on the circular rotary disc 9a fixed to the shaft 4 so as to fit respectively into the gaps between the walls 8d of the stationary disc in the rotor 9. Radial grooves which are off-centered at a specified angle from the centerline of the rotary disc to bring a part of the walls 9b into action as sharp angled blade tips and communicate them with each other toward the radial direction are disposed equally to the walls 9b.
