PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC/DC converter capable of controlling the ripple amount of the output voltage not to increase when switching the number of driving phases.SOLUTION: Each of N (N: an integer more than 2) switching circuits SW1-SWN generates switching voltages Vsw1-VswN respectively on each switching node according to input pulse signals. A phase controller 16 dynamically switches the number of driving phases K (K: an integer smaller than N) according to the state of a DC/DC converter 2. A pulse modulator 20 generates a pulse signal Sthe frequency of which changes according to the number of driving phases K. A distribution section 22 selects K switching circuits from the N switching circuits SW1-SWN and distributes pulse signals S-Sto each of selected K switching circuits with a phase difference of (360/K) degree.
Abstract:
Provided is a switching regulator which is capable of reducing soft start time when being activated, and prolonging battery life. The switching regulator has a configuration in which a clamp circuit for clamping a reference voltage is provided in a soft start circuit, and a predetermined period of time since the switching regulator has been activated is divided into a plurality of segments to increase the reference voltage with different slopes for each of the plurality of segments. At an early stage of the activation, the reference voltage is set to be low for preventing an inrush current from a power source, and thereafter, a rate of increase in reference voltage is gradually increased, to thereby reduce the soft start time.

A DC-DC converter includes an insulating substrate with an inductor provided on the top surface thereof, a switching control IC provided therein, and a ground electrode pattern provided on the bottom surface thereof. The ground electrode pattern includes a first pattern and a second pattern separated from each other and a bridge pattern that connects the first and second patterns to each other. A capacitor and the switching control IC is connected to each of the first and second patterns. The bridge pattern faces the inductor and has a smaller width than that of the first and second patterns.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor having excellent productivity.SOLUTION: The reactor includes a coil 2 formed of wound winding 2w, and magnetic cores 3, disposed inside and outside the coil 2, for forming a closed magnetic circuit. An inner core portion 31 out of the magnetic core 3, disposed inside the coil 2, is constituted by a composite material including a magnetic substance powder and a resin. A projection contour shape of the inner core portion 31 looked from one axial direction among x-axis, y-axis and z-axis includes at least one side of inclined sides each inclining from each other axial directions. The x-axis is defined to be the axial direction of the coil 2 at the inner coil portion 31, whereas the y-axis and the z-axis are defined to be orthogonal to the x-axis and orthogonal to each other.

The voltage of a detection resistor connected to the drain of a low-side switching device is normally a negative voltage, but a positive voltage appears when a countercurrent occurs in an abnormal state. A current comparator monitors the voltage of the detection resistor, transmits high output to an AND circuit whole the voltage of the detection resistor is a negative voltage to maintain the output voltage of the current comparator in a low state when an output signal of a driver can be transmitted to the low-side switching device, and allows the output voltage of the current comparator in a low state when the voltage of the detection resistor becomes a positive voltage, thereby forcibly turning off the low-side switching device.
