    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipyridine-based metal complex compound comprising a self-dispersible bipyridine ligand and a metal, and an ink composition containing the same. SOLUTION: The bipyridine-based metal complex compound is self-dispersible and therefore does not need an additional dispersant. The bipyridine-based metal complex compound can be used as a colorant by itself and also in combination with another colorant. The complex compound comprising the self-dispersible bipyridine ligand and the metal not only can be used as a colorant by itself but also can develop various hues in combination with an existing colorant and additionally enhance durability such as light resistance. Preservation stability after long-term use is remarkably enhanced when a self-dispersion system, which makes the best of a steric hindrance by a bulky structure of the metal complex compound obtained by coordinately bonding a hydrophilic group-containing ligand to the metal together with the bipyridine-based ligand and electrostatic repulsive force between the charged metal and the hydrophilic group-containing ligand, is introduced.
