Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling plant insect pests by which the plant insect pests are suppressed. SOLUTION: The plant insect pets are effectively suppressed by spraying a controlling agent using a bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens KPM-018P isolated from a leaf of a tomato. The Pseudomonas fluorescens KPM-018P secrets chitinase and has lethal effects on ingested insects. Furthermore, the KPM-018P produces a biosurfactant and forms a stable colony on a plant body. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism controlling agent having little environmental load and capable of simply and efficiently protecting aerial parts of plants from Botrytis cinerea and to provide a controlling method using the controlling agent. SOLUTION: The controlling agent comprises a bacterial cell of a natural Pseudomonas fluorescens separated from soil or cultured product of the bacterium. The controlling method comprises treating the aerial parts of the plants with the controlling agent. Botrytis cinerea can simply and efficiently be controlled by treating the aerial parts of the plants with controlling agent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
