Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and residual potential of a laminate type receptor, by using a specified hydrazone compound. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer of this receptor contains a hydrazone compound represented by formula 1 or 2 (where R1 is optionally substituted aryl or heterocyclic, R2 is optionally substituted alkyl or aryl, each of R3 and R4 is optionally substituted alkyl or aralkyl, R3 and R4 may bond to each other to form a heterocyclic ring, n is 0 or 1, X is a group of atoms required to form a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring, each of R5 and R6 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or dialkylamino, and each of R7, R8 and R9 is optionally substituted alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl or aryl). The compound may be also used in the charge transferring layer to further increase the effect.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled photoreceptor low in fatigue deterioration due to repeated uses and superior in durability, by forming a photosensitive layer composed of a combination of a carrier-generating phase and a carrier transfer phase consisting mainly of a hydrazone compound on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION: An electrophotographic receptor is formed by providing a photosensitive layer (C) composed of a combination of a carrier-generating phase (A) and a carrier transfer phase (B) on a conductive substrate. The phase (B) contains as a main component a hydrazone compound of the formulaIin which R1, R2, R3 and R4 are (substituted)aryl, and Ar is (substituted)arylene, such as the formulae II and III. The layer (C) may be constituted by laminating the layer of the phase (A) and the layer of the phase (B) or dispersing both each other. This electrophotographic receptor is used as a transfer-repeating type, it has low fatigue deterioration due to repeated uses, retains its characteristics stably for a long time, and exhibits superior durability. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that has a surface layer containing a polymer obtained by polymerizing a compound having a chain polymerizable functional group, and suppresses degeneration of a material constituting the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor and deterioration of transfer efficiency resulting from the degeneration even after repeated use; a manufacturing method of the electrophotographic photoreceptor; and a process cartridge and an electrophotographic device including the electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a support, a photosensitive layer that is formed on the support, and a surface layer that contains a polymer of a composition including a charge transport compound having a specific group (polymerizable functional group).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which frictional electrification is hardly caused to an electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an electrophotographic photoreceptor having an outermost layer configured to include a cured product having a charge transporting skeleton; a charging unit that charges the electrophotographic photoreceptor; an electrostatic latent image forming unit that forms an electrostatic latent image at the charged electrophotographic photoreceptor; a developing unit that develops the electrostatic latent image formed at the electrophotographic photoreceptor by a developer to form a toner image, the developing unit storing the developer containing a toner having toner particles containing a crystalline resin and having a shape factor SF1 of 100-150 in addition to a volume average particle diameter of 3-6 μm, and fluorocarbon resin particles as an external additive; a transfer unit that transfers the toner image to a medium to be transferred; and a cleaning unit that cleans the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor with a blade containing urethane rubber, the blade disposed applying a pressure to the electrophotographic photoreceptor surface of about 0.20 mN/mm or more.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has high durability and stably provides an image of a high image quality by suppressing the image degradation due to the reduction of image density or image blurring, and is available for positive charge and negative charge. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has at least a photosensitive layer provided on a conductive support member. The photosensitive layer contains, as a charge transport material, at least one kind of compound selected from compounds resulting from coupling an isoindole component to naphthalene tetracarboxylic acid diimide components, naphthalene carboxylic acid monoimide components, and diphenylamino benzhydrazone components.
