摘要: A system for providing extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation comprises a laser source arranged to produce a laser beam having a focus; and a carrier movable relative to the laser source for carrying a surface material, the surface material when carried by the carrier providing a renewable target edge. The focussed beam is arranged to impinge on the target edge to produce an EUV radiation emitting plasma. The system is cooperable with a mirror for harnessing the EUV radiation by reflecting EUV radiation impinging thereon. The mirror comprises a substantially aspheric surface and means for supplying a reflecting liquid to at least partially coat the aspheric surface, the mirror being rotatable to centrifugally confine the liquid to the aspheric surface.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation treatment system for accurately delivering radiation to a targeted site within a cancer patient that includes a modular patient support system and a patient positioner.SOLUTION: The modular patient support system includes a modularly expandable patient pod 200 and at least one immobilization device, such as a rigid moldable foam cradle. The patient pod includes a generally hemi-cylindrical support shell 212 that extends longitudinally between proximal edge 214 and distal edge 216, and transversely between two lateral edges 222, 224. In one embodiment, the lateral edges are tapered to minimize edge effects that result when radiation beams traverse the lateral edges.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for manufacturing radionuclides which achieves the preparation for irradiation with charged particle beams and the irradiation with them and attains the transportation and recovery of manufactured radionuclides.
