PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recognition accuracy in recognition of an image.SOLUTION: A feature amount calculation part calculates a feature amount indicating a magnitude relation between each of a signal value of one reference pixel of the predetermined first number of pixels and a signal value of the second number of reference pixels which is the second number of pixels of the first number of pixels and at least one pixel of the second number of pixels is a pixel at a position apart at least one pixel distance from the reference pixel as to all of the second number of reference pixels with respect to an image in a processing area, and an object recognition part recognizes a target object on the basis of the feature amount calculated by the feature amount calculation part.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detection system and occupant detection method that makes it possible to improve occupant detection sensitivity and can precisely detect an occupant.SOLUTION: An occupant detection system (100) in accordance with the present invention is an occupant detection system that detects an occupant who operates equipment loaded on a vehicle, and includes: a first electrode unit (110) that is disposed in the equipment; a second electrode unit (120) that is disposed in a vehicle compartment of the vehicle so that the second electrode unit can be electrically connected to the first electrode via the body of the occupant when the occupant operates the equipment; a signal generation unit (130) that generates a first alternating-current (AC) signal, feeds the signal to the first electrode unit, generates a second AC signal whose phase is reverse to that of the first AC signal, and feeds the signal to the second electrode unit; and a signal discrimination unit (140) that discriminates the signals which are transmitted to the first electrode unit and second electrode unit respectively, from each other.

A pattern storage section stores an image in a state where light sources that should be turned on are being lit as a pattern image for each pattern of the lighting state of the light sources, regarding an image which is captured for determining malfunction of the lighting state of the light sources. A pattern collation section collates an image which is captured for determining malfunction of the lighting state of the light sources with a pattern image stored in the pattern storage section, regarding the pattern determined by the pattern determination section. A malfunction determination section determines malfunction of the lighting state of the light sources based on a collation result by the pattern collation section.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a radiation noise that generates in execution of incremental memory access.SOLUTION: An address conversion part divides an eight-bit address value by four bits and converts the divided value on the basis of a predetermined conversion rule. The conversion rule has a domain ranging from 0 to 15 and a value range from integer 0 to 15, in which input and output values correspond each other one-to-one. The conversion rule is such that when the conversion rule is used to serially convert integers 0 to 15 arranged in the ascending order, a Hamming distance of adjoining two values is always smaller than four.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve measurement of a beam direction to a vertical direction and to efficiently perform adjustment of the measurement.SOLUTION: A lens converges arriving radio waves. A plurality of receiving elements are configured based on a predetermined plane so that an arriving direction of the radio wave received by at least one receiving element is a direction separated from the plane in a vertical direction to receive the radio wave converged by the lens. A calculation part calculates a value concerned with the vertical direction by using receiving signals based on radio waves received by two or more receiving elements out of the plurality of receiving elements, in which arriving directions of the received radio waves are different about the vertical direction.
