Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively protect knees and lower portions thereof, mainly foot tips of occupants seated in a rear seat. SOLUTION: In the airbag device for the rear seat, an airbag 16 which is developed and inflated between a front seat 11 and a rear seat 15 is stored in a case 13 of an airbag module 10 fixed to a lower side of a seat part 12 of the front seat 11. The airbag 16 comprises an upper inflation part 22 which is developed and inflated along a back rest part 21 of the front seat 11, a lower inflation part 23 to cover a space between the seat part 12 and a floor F. A support guide 24 to support a front face 23a of the lower inflation part 23 is provided on a lower side of the case 13 between the seat part 12 and the floor F. Abstract: An airbag for head-protecting airbag device according to the present invention is normally folded and housed in an upper edge of windows including a front pillar. The airbag includes a gas admissive portion. An inflatable shielding portion of the gas admissive portion includes a plurality of protection portions, at least one of which located toward front end of the airbag acts as front protection portion, and remaining protection portions located rearward of the front protection portion act as rear protection portions. The front protection portion includes a plurality of vertical chambers juxtaposed along the front-rear direction of the vehicle, and each of the vertical chambers is arranged vertically. The rear protection portions include a plurality of horizontal chambers juxtaposed in the vertical direction, and each of the horizontal chambers is arranged along the front-rear direction of the vehicle.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device which prevents a submarine phenomenon without impairing sitting comfort. SOLUTION: A substantially regular hexagonal cylindrical storage cylinder 34 is stored in a storing recess 21 provided at a bottom frame 19 of a seat 12. An inflator 24 as a gas generating source is stored in the storage cylinder 34. The storage cylinder 34 is incorporated into an air bag 25 made of fabric. The cylindrical inflator 24 is screwed on a bottom wall 26 for forming the storing recess 21. A supporting surface 342 to be one of 6 planes to be outer peripheral surfaces 340 of the storage cylinder 34 is parallel to an upper surface 192 of a supporting wall 190. A height position of the supporting surface 342 is set to be a position slightly lower than the upper surface 192. The supporting surface 342 faces a lower surface 332 of a seat cushion 33. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein the protective function for an occupant in a rear seat is hardly degraded even when the positional relationship of a front seat to the occupant in the rear seat is changed. SOLUTION: In an airbag device for a rear seat, a controller 37 estimates a spacing between a back rest part of a front seat and knees of an occupant in the rear seat based on detected information by a front seat position sensor 32, a front seat collapse angle sensor 33 or the like. The controller 37 operates only a first inflator 15a when the estimated spacing is less than a predetermined value, and operates the first and second inflators 15a and 15b if the spacing is not less than the predetermined value. An airbag is developed and inflated thin by maintaining an overlapping part without breaking a tear seam part provided on an overlapping part of a tether when gas is supplied only from the first inflator 15a. The airbag is developed and inflated thick by breaking the tear seam part and developing the overlapping part when gas is supplied from the first and second inflators 15a and 15b.
